Rumor has it, he can be had forva 3rd. With all the good pass rushers off the market, its something we should consider.
Let's do it Tom!
How about our 4th and the Thomas 7th?
His sack numbers aren't flashy, but he is worth that kind of trade. I wouldn't mind it. He is a 3-4 DE though, would he fit our defense?

I feel like he can take Odricks spot opposite of Yannick
I'd trade for Sheldon Richardson in a heartbeat. Young impact player

a 3rd for Richardson would be a steal. He sets a good edge against the run.

Has anyone heard any details about what defense we are running this year? We still doing the Otto, Leo thing or is that in the dustbin with Gus' career?

Yes he certainly would. Imagine him with Jackson and Yannick.
I like Richardson.  I just wonder where he'd fit.  I mean he could play Marks' role spelling Jackson and lining up next to Jackson on third downs, but Marks is doing that pretty well for less money and there's promising depth behind him.  (Day)

I have doubts abut the "big end" being a major part of the scheme moving forward, so thats a big maybe at best.

I think that third round pick may be put to wiser use due to need elsewhere on the Jags roster.  He's definitely worth a third to someone though.

I glanced at this real quick and thought this was about Trent Richardson lol
There were some plays that the Jets even used Sheldon Richardson as a 3-4 OLB  That certainly isn't his best position but it speaks volumes about his athletic ability.

I used to hate 3-4 defenses because when DEs were moved back to OLBs, they struggled with the position change. If the Jets want to run their defense that way, they should have four real linebackers.

The Jets three 1st Round picks on the D-Line all basically fit best at a similar position.  Because they wanted to get them on the field at the same time,  that's likely why Sheldon Richardson saw action at OLB.  it's also a major part of why they want to trade him.
He's a stud player but a bone head off the field

I wouldn't be worried about Richardson playing DE, the same way I wouldn't be worried about Jonathan Allen playing DE. They're both athletically gifted enough to play 4-3 strong-side defensive end in base sets, so we wouldn't need to be beholden to the "big end" concepts we've had here recently.

Ill take the chance. This team needs playmakers.
Has been suspended twice in the past 2 years. The guy has talent on the field, but can't stay out of trouble off the field.  Jets would reportedly like to trade him before his March 9th $8.1m salary becomes guaranteed.  Richardson is in the last year of his contract, 26 years old, and is 6'2.5" at 294 pounds.  He does have 2014 pro bowl and 2013 DROY recognition when on his game.  2015 and 2016 seasons were not up to his previous levels.

In the Jag's 4-3 scheme, I could see him fitting in well at the strong end spot, and likely benefiting from some TC discipline.  BTW, Paul Spicer was a similar size with less athleticism at the 4-3 strong end role.  However, do you give up a 2nd-3rd round draft pick (and $8.1m) for a one year player with off the field risk (and team distraction attributes)?  I don't think you would trade for him and give him an extension with big guaranteed money, given his past 2 years of off the field issues.  If you can take him for his one year deal with a 4th-5th round pick, I think he's worth the risk.  However, I don't think he's worth the risk for a 1st-3rd round pick and his one year deal.  I view the 1st-3rd round picks as a potential solid player on your team for multiple years of production.

No way I'd give up such a valuable pick for a player that could find himself suspended indefinitely.

Str8 tho.  Dude racing in a Bentley wit weed and his homies wit a kid in da backseat.

If true, they better do it in a heartbeat
