The Jags should have over 44 Mil in Cap Space to sign new players and to resign a few of their own Free Agents.
In terms of which current Jags are heading into Free Agency in 2016?
1. Chad Henne - QB
2. Stefen Wisniewski - C
3. Ryan Davis - DE
4. Abry Jones - DT
5. Clay Harbor - TE
6. Nic Jackobs - TE
7. Marcedes Lewis - TE
8. Bernard Pierce - RB
9. Andre Branch - DE
Who do you think the Jags should re-sign?
For me it is the top 6 players listed above.
In terms of other players that I think that the Jags could let go, I would include:
1. Toby Gerhart - RB - 3.5 Mil/Yr
2. Ziggy Hood - DT - 4 Mil/Yr
3. Chris Clemons - DE - 4 Mil/Yr
These 3 players will free up 11.5 Mil in salary cap
In terms of reasonable contracts for the Jags the team re-signs:
1. Chad Henne - QB - 3 Yrs @ 3 Mil/Yr = 9 Mil
2. Stefen Wisniewski - C - 4 yrs @ 4 MIl/Yr = 16 Mil
3. Ryan Davis - DE - 4 Yrs @ 4 Mil/Yr = 16 Mil
4. Abry Jones - DT - 3 Yrs @ 3 Mil/Yr = 9 Mil
5. Clay Harbor - TE - 3 Yrs @ 2.33 Mil/Yr = 7 Mil
6. Nic Jacobs - TE - 3 Yrs @ 1.33 Mil/Yr = 4 Mil
These signing will take up about 18 Mil off the salary cap
Wiz
Ryan Davis
Clay Harbor
Abry Jones
Bernard Pierce. He's better than Toby. Cut Toby.
Activate Neal Sterling and cut Nic Jacobs.
Chenne sucks, we need a vet backup
Marcedes we can keep on a cheaper contract. He stumbles and drops passes, but his blocking skills are great. He's very reliable in that aspect.
Andre Branch can walk, dude just doesn't get it done. If he can step it up that'd be great, but if not, draft someone better.
I now want to go into examining individual Free Agents that I believe will be available, meaning their team most likely will not re-sign them.
The first player is
Trumaine Johnson - CB - Rams - 6'2" 208 Lbs - 26 Yrs old in 2016
Stats:
2013 - 16 Games - 68 TT - 3 Ints - 11 PD
2014 - 9 Games - 36 TT - 3 Ints - 6 PD
2015 - 4 Games - 18 TT - 1 Int - 5 PD
Johnson has the length that Gus Bradley wants and needs for this defense.
Matching Trumaine Johnson and Davon House on the outside with Aaron Colvin in the slot and having three solid backups in
Dwayne Gratz, Demetrius McCray and Nick Marshall will give the Jags the type of secondary that can dominate the AFC South.
The Rams have both Trumaine Johnson and Janoris Jenkins becoming Free Agents in 2016. The St Louis press corps seems to think that the Rams will sign Janoris Jenkins and allow Trumaine Johnson to walk.
I have Trumaine Johnson signing for what the Jags gave Davon House which is 4 Yrs @ 6 Mil/Yr = 24 MIl
If the Jags decide to dump Gerhart and Pierce, their combined salaries is 4.16 Mil.
One RB that may come on the market that I believe will help the Jags establish a solid ground game is
Alfred Morris - RB - Redskins - 5'10" 224 Lbs - 27 Yrs old in 2016
Stats:
2012: 16 Games - 1613 Yds Rushing - 13 TDs - 11 Receptions
2013: 16 Games - 1275 Yds Rushing - 7 TDs - 9 Receptions
2014: 16 Games - 1074 Yds Rushing - 8 TDs - 17 Receptions
2015: 4 Games - 261 Yds - 0 TDs - 4 Receptions
The idea here is to rotate Morris with Yeldon at the RB position and when Yeldon is not playing RB, put him at the Slot WR position to catch the short pass across the middle.
The Redskins have very limited salary cap space in 2016 and they have two young RBs in Matt Jones and Chris Thompson, so I think that the Redskins will allow Morris to walk.
The contract I would offer him is 3 Yrs @ 4 Mil/Yr = 12 MIl

Let Henne Lewis Branch walk
Make sure Davis and Wis stay
Offer the remaining guys reasonable contacts to return to camp and compete.
Wiz, Davis, Jones, Harbor. Let everyone else go. Cut Toby, Clemons, Ziggy, Beadles to free up 16.5 million in cap space. Go out and sign a decent LT like Glenn or Okung and move Joekcel to LG. Sign a FS and a LB. Draft Hargreaves in the 1st and a DE/DT in the 2nd!
You will have Yeldon/Robinson combo with Bortles throwing it to Lee, Hurns, Robinson, and JT!!! The OL would be fine with Joeckel adjusting to LG.
On defense you will have Fowler, Marks, Miller, and Odrick on the line, pretty good line to me. The linebackers will be Telvin, Skuta, and Poz will share snaps with whoever we sign in FA. House and Hargreaves will be the starting corners with Colvin in the slot. If we land Berry or Gipson that will be our FS and Cyprien SS. Pretty good starting line up to me. Re sign some players and sign cheap prove it contracts on some talent in FA for rotation and competition.
One thing of importance. If Gus is fired the entire defense could possibly be scrapped.

Which terrifies me
Unless he is willing to take the DC job, which is highly unlikely.

Only players I'd keep from that list is Davis and Jones, but really, none of those players are unreplaceable.
I'd hope that Bowanko is ready to take over at center next season. Which is why I wouldn't include Wiz. However, Wiz is a big reason why our pass protection has been much better. If Bo isn't ready, keep Wiz.
I have heard from one of the talking heads, that the Jags may let A.J. Cann stay at ORG and move Linder to OLG beside Joeckel.
I certainly can see the logic in this in as much as Joeckel is one heck of a run blocker and he seems to only be getting better.
So what does this say? I think it says that the Jags want to be a ball control - run the ball more than pass the ball, pass the ball based upon the play-action and allow the Jags to operate in BEAST-MODE!
This is why I think the Jags need 3 RBs and why someone like Alfred Morris makes sense. Morris can not handle the load all by himself but he certainly can run inside the tackles. I think that Yeldon can do it all and beyond that, I think he may be most dangerous when he is a receiving short passes beyond the line of scrimmage. Robinson is the outside speed guy and who knows Corey Grant could be a factor as a speed guy.
Once the Jags become a run-first team, then Bortles will become an All-Pro because he does have talent in throwing the long ball and with 8 in the box, the long ball is going to be open from time to time.

Release these
Positions I currently feel need to be addressed:
- Vet backup QB
- TE
- Pass rushing LE (move Odrick inside)
- "Do it all" LB (Skuta to LEO)
- CB and FS
FA acquisitions:
- TE Coby Fleener

The bolded are the only players from that list that'll be resigned
I agree, Bryan Anger should be re-signed for a reasonable contract, otherwise, punters can be had cheap.
