This is common, even today. I would say though it is more common to position coaches then it is to the HC

McElwain gained so much publicity because he reached back and looked like he was going to back hand Taylor. Stark did not so this will be a breeze in the wind.

Yikes. Easy to make fun, but obviously he is wrestling with some demons.

That or just wanting to be a head coach.  I can't imagine they all want to be famous, but either way, more important for him to get the help he needs.

You know what you are signing up for, but if you are a wreck, it doesn't matter.  Like I said, easy for people to point and laugh, but seriously, that must be a tough thing to go through without the publicity.  Imagine the world knowing your every move?
