Quote:That's not possible. You can only cheer on one team.

What about the NFL?

Yes it is. I lived in central Ohio most of my life. There is no reason to stop rooting for Ohio State just because I moved to Gainesville. I will never understand why anybody thinks people are only allowed to like one team.
Just seems hard to pull for a team that's basically called the Ohio State Buckeyes or Acorns or Filberts or one of those nuts that's always left in the jar at the end of holiday season.

You just don't like Ohio State. Buckeye candy is peanut butter dipped in chocolate and never passed out on Halloween.

Back to the topic, who do you all think is the best of the currently undefeated teams?

So a buckeye is basically a Reese's peanut butter cup??

Not really the scariest of namesakes...and shouldn't they wear light brown and dark brown??

Nope. They are called buckeyes because of their appearance - round with part of the outside uncovered to look like the nut.

True, because everyone knows not to eat them. If someone did eat one, that person would go to the emergency room. The reason for the nickname is Ohio is called the Buckeye State.

The scarlet is for cardinals, Ohio's state bird. I have no idea why they chose gray for the other color. But if you want to get picky, explain orange and blue for the Gators, which are brown.

The person that chose the Gators colors was color blind.

Next question.

The colors are from the two original schools that joined together to become UF. One had blue and white as their colors, the other had orange and black....the gator was chosen after the colors btw.

I like my answer better.

I wish I could say that was the first time I'd heard that from a woman.

This thread has made me hungry for a Reeses, or a Buckeye, or both.  Chocolate...I just want chocolate.  I knew I should have mugged a couple of kids for their candy stash earlier.
I have no idea why Michigan is the Wolverines and I have no idea why their colors are maize and blue. I do care that Michigan has one of the most historic helmets and uniforms of all time, though.

I love Michigan's helmets and uni.  I hope they never change.

Halloweens tomorrow night...you've got another chance at it!!

Tonight, not  tomorrow  night. Happy Halloween!

If you all care about how scary a mascot's namesake is, the Gators win. Bulldogs have only 42 teeth and can't fit very much in their short mouths. Alligators have no problem in that area.

Riping off my Reeses PeanutButter Cups... Now I am mad. :teehee:

As long at Urban Meyer is up there they should wear two shades of brown.

Then you would have to argue LSU should be orange and black instead of purple and yellow, etc. Right now all I care about is who wins and loses certain games each week.
I chose to emphasize the Power Five because until Memphis beat Ole Miss nobody seemed to think the AAC teams had a chance of getting in the playoffs. The SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and Pacific 12 are not going to fall out in favor of the AAC. But undefeated Temple is getting a lot of love in the leadup to its game against independent Notre Dame tonight. Where does that leave the Owls if they win? Maybe ranked higher than some pretty good Power Five teams. It will be interesting to see how the AAC affects the five better conferences.
