Anyone using features of kinect other than voice commands to to turn on and launch services? I know it runs Skype but is it more useful than just those?

Not directly, it's so easy to use your voice so I'm not sure why you would want to wave your arms around in front of the TV. It is cool how it recognises you when you're in front of it and it loads your profile.
I have had it penalize me on NBA2K for profanity...

You can also speak to the games and stuff. I haven't personally used it. Also allows you to speak in multiplayer without a headset.

I refuse to buy an Xbone. Partly because there's no extra value to the $100 extra it costs over the PS4, but also because I hate anything to do with voice commands. I also don't like Microsoft's DRM policies, their attitude towards indie developers, and the fact they tried to pass off their video games console as an entertainment machine. Oh wow, I can watch TV on it, how bloody marvelous. Guess what; I got a DVR free with my TV subscription and I have no need for your stupid multimedia functions. I want my consoles to do two things; play games and watch Blu-Rays.

I'm catching up on Squidbillies on Hulu.

Neflix, and all the premium movie channels have their own apps now.

To each their own. I haven't bought an actual movie disc in years.

Yeah FIFA does that too. I also like tha I can substitute a player and change tactics without even pausing the game. Simply say "Substitution. Player A. Player B" or "Counter attack"

I get that. If you solely want a games console buy a ps4. If yo want a complete media centre as well as a console buy an Xbox one.

As i said in a previous post, I like that my xbox integrates with my tivo. I can change channel, pause and rewind using my voice. I can also see what channels are "trending" and what my friends are watching.

It also has the NFL app with GamePass built in so I can watch every NFL game and the NFL network on my TV without booting up my laptop and plugging it in

Got super excited.... Then saw you were in England and got sad that I still can't give the NFL my money to watch Jag games out of market.

Sorry dude, but I have to pay too. GamePass costs £130 for the year, so current exchange rate about $200

Just out of interest, what does Sunday Ticket cost?

$300 or so?

MY issue is not the cost. It's that the NFL has an exclusive contract with DirecTV satellite so you have to have their service to by Sunday Ticket. Or have a credit card billing address in one of 3 cities or have an address at like an apartment that does not allow dishes to be installed. I have neither of those so cannot give them my money.

That's what I was going to suggest. We have games here that are blacked out as part of the NFLs deal with Sky Sports. I use unlocater and get all the games that I'm paying for.
Thanks for the advice guys. I know I can use a VPN. I was just venting my frustration with not being to take the normal route to throwing my money at their faces.

Quote:My wife and I just got one and we love it. We run all of our entertainment through it. My favorite game so far on it is Arkham Knight (assuming you like Batman).
This is my favourite game right now..

That and FIFA 16.
