Quote:When's the last time the Jags could cover any TE?

It started with Frank Wycheck running wide open over the middle or down the seam and hasn't really been remedied since.
What did Olson do in week one?

I see our Olson and raise you a Gronk.
can you really count Gronk?

dude does that to everyone

he's an elite TE that the L has not seen much of

Cothchery ran right by him.

Search panthers vs jaguars. Its like the 4th play or so...

Then search colts vs jags and watch fleener on the 3rd and long play.
Then watch patriots vs jags.

Gronk owns him.

He is aweful in coverage

Jordan Cameron averaged 20 yards a catch against us. How are we covering TEs again?

The question was "When's the last time the Jags could cover any TE?". Wouldn't that be Olson?

He had a catch for 11 yards. Cotchery had 4 for 45. Still gave up better than a first down a catch against the Panthers.

In Week 1, he had a touchdown negated because of a controversial penalty and another 13-yard catch wiped out because of a penalty, all while the Jaguars slid their safety down to help cover Olsen in zone defense.
Cotchery is a wide receiver.

My mistake. We were lucky that Cam didn't target Olsen more often. Had to rely on safety help to cover him.
What linebackers in the NFL are "great" in coverage?  Not many I bet.

Bro, Telvin can't cover that well. I understand the WR vs TE thing.
Telvin Smith should be the least of your concerns. Maybe he wouldn't get beat in coverage if the front four could do it's job and actually get after the QB. Or, maybe Bradley and Babich, could, ohhhhhhhhh, I don't know, try blitzing a bit more with some of their guys off the edge and actually press the line of scrimmage with the secondary players.

Well he's not the least of my concerns. In fact I think he is a huge liability in coverage.

Fleener got a huge first down. Gronk had his way. Cotchery, who I understand is a WR just simply ran behind him.....not bc he used his speed....he just simply ran past Telvin bc he was standing flat footed.
Fleener isn't a slouch. And regardless of the outcome of that game. We should have been able to put up more than 16 points to beat them. He got burned in OT after the kicker had missed the game winning field goal and after Armstead one-armed tackled Gore and lost his handle on it. Gronkowski is Gronkowski. When does he NOT have his way? And again, you're bringing up a Carolina game where he held Olsen in check for the most part and the defense, again, collectively only surrendered 13 points. Our offense cost us that game. You're out of your mind if you think Telvin Smith is a liability. This entire front four is lack luster and cannot get after the QB and we've been without our best options at safety this year so far until recently.

He wasnt in man!! The soft zone plays called limit his aggressive ability.. Keep Telvin name out!! If anybody cant cover its slow Poz!
Telvin's eyes are fixated on the QB.

He's being manipulated by smart QBs who simply look him off.

You are spot on with what I'm trying to explain. It is a fact. Its not just my opinion.

Common sense says if a man is in your zone, then make a play.

This is a question for the people saying he is not a concern.....why isn't he making plays in zone coverage?

I'm not trying to argue, just curious what your thoughts are.

If you haven't seen the video then please don't answer.

Dude can't cover.
So, if I understand your point correctly, you want Telvin to man up on the players that enter his "area".

What happens when there are multiple players in his "area"? Should he guard them all?
