Of course I am not downplaying the impact of two misses against the Colts. I am just saying don't hit the panic button yet. His misses were from 53 and 48 yards - obviously not chip shots -and he is a rookie.

I don't think bringing back our all time leading scorer if he's available is panicking.  Especially when our current kicker is no Vinatieri.

I swear I thought they said Scobee has led the league in missed field goals since the start of the 2014 season.

 

The only glaringly obvious point I have with this is how much he was asked to make a field goal compared to most kickers since the beginning of the 2014 season.

Myers is a young kicker on a bad team. He's got a strong leg and has made plenty of kicks with narrower uprights. (Arena League.) I'm not going to worry about one bad game.

Pretty sure I read somewhere Myers was on the Arena rosters and never kicked in an actual game for either team.

You could be right. I got my info from a friend, but checked after reading your post and couldn't find anything on-line to corroborate it.

Scobee wouldn't have hit that 59 yarder vs Miami but he for dang sure would have won that clots game for us.

Some people don't remember Scobee's first year here.
