Quote:We are talking about #76, right??
I am. I have no idea who you are talking about.

He misses blocks here and there, gets penalties here and there. Doesn't have great games, doesn't have horrible games. He plays more consistently than a lot of players on the offense.

No one is saying he is great, but his play doesn't match your cliche.

For the #2 overall pick he should be great? Should he not? Is that play acceptable for a top 5 pick to you?

I just wish the team didn't have to spend the 2nd overall pick on a very average LT. I know, I know, weak draft.

All players have unacceptable plays at times. I guess everyone who has ever played the game suffers from "inconsistency".

Ok. Joeckel has been consistent and has lived up to his status.

Everyone keeps saying that but we could have drafted Ansah who is a stud and a lot of us wanted him.

I never said he lived up to his status. That's just you creating a strawman argument.

He has not been consistent for a top 2 pick lineman. If you think a guy who gets blown up and holds as much as he does is consistent then that's fine.

His play has been consistent. Saying he hasn't played at the level you expected is a completely different thing.

I expected? You select guys at the top of the draft to be game changers.
"You" as a general perception. No one has said he has lived up to his draft position so far in his career.

Going into the game, Joeckel is tied with 15 other people for the 21st most penalized OT in the league. Hardly the penalty machine your knee jerk reaction is trying to portray him to be.

I never said he was a penalty machine. Nice trying to put words in my mouth. He is an inconsistent LT. Feel free to be think otherwise and be wrong.

You just referenced how much he holds. Nice try.

Um, you aren't that bright are you? He does hold a lot. I never said he was a penalty machine for it. Like it's some kind of an art that he kills us every game. However, he is inconsistent...like I said. All holds aren't always even called and he does it too much for my liking. I don't think he has the strength to stand against good DE's.

I'm smart enough to figure out that being in the middle of the pack isn't "a lot". If that were the case then "a lot" of other players in this league have "a lot" more.

I'm not just talking about the actual flags always thrown. Holding occurs all the time and doesn't always get called. Joeckel is holding on for dear life against defensive ends. He gets driven like a Mustang right into Blake and gives up pressure.

So now it's the uncalled holds that are the problem?

Dude, just give it up
Joeckel needs to be replaced next season.  I think he's just under mediocre at the very best.  LT is too important to ignore.

Joeckel just can't play consistently well... That's all you have to do and its impossible for him.

Said by someone who has no response. He gives up pressure, he's not strong enough and his penalties occur on crucial 3rd downs. Continue to believe he's Joe Thomas. And Gratz is Revis while you're at it.
