I would consider Bill Nye a science educator. He isn't technically a scientist (he is an engineer by training) but he's well versed in a varienty of science fields.

 

I'm called a fake scientist when I conduct actual research, write proposals, write grants, develop research strategies, conduct hypothesis testing, and submit and publish research. But, if your "science" doesn't agree with conservative idealogy you are deemed fake. I think people need to take politics out of it and understand the actual science. I wouldn't get my information from a blog.

I can't take politics out of it when Nye goes on a political show to try to spew his verbal sewage. Also, his recent collaboration with that geriatric Bernie Sanders shows he isn't really in it for the right reasons anyway.

The majority of the worlds leading scientist believe climate change is real and that humans are behind its acceleration.


Conservatives either deny or down play Climate Change as they do with most environmental issues.


Progressives accept the science and believe it should be used to inform policy decisions, while Conservatives do not.


Do you not see this dichotomy? Can you name one issue whether it was clean water, clear air, smog, fracking, CFCs, green energy, etc etc where conservatives have been leaders?

Lets just assume climate change is real. How do you even begin to fix it? It's a GLOBAL issue, not an individual. Nothing will be done until there is a catastrophic global event that can be directly tied to global warming. In the meantime, it is just a waste of time and there are way bigger fish to fry.

Well you can't fix it like you would a flat tire. You find long term solutions to moving away from fossil fuels which are not good for the environment any way (see China). Research and develop the technologies to do get cleaner energy. Find the best practical solutions. And adapt. Our generation won't be the one that will have to deal with the more severe effects of climate change. It will be our children's children and then their children.

(odd claim, since there is no "acceleration") I can show you a petition that lists over 31,000 scientists who disagree with that premise. Can you show us a list that has even 1,000 scientists who believe what you say? Or do you just limit "world's leading scientists" to those who agree with you?

One Volcanic eruption under the right circumstances will send the Earth into another ice age. Only a liberal or a fake scientist would think people are so significant as to change something on a scale that they don't even comprehend.

There are over 31,000 names. Subtract out all of the garbage every petition has and there are still over 31,000 names of actual scientists. Most of them are real scientists who don't adjust the data to get the answer they want.


 

And I'm sorry about your willful ignorance. You should study the subject instead of just parroting what the Guardian politicos spout.
