So I got linked to a bleacher report article (about Miko Grimes) after reading about Brent Grimes wife getting arrested (Miko) and I really enjoyed it alot. It was an interview and I got to say, I really liked her takes on the NFL, but one thing that really jumped off the page to me was this quote:
"I ask Miko: What is her endgame? Her answer is swift.
"
One of the things I want to do is make people understand that with most teams, they really don't care about winning," she said. "Winning is last, and making money is first. I see that with how my husband has been treated over the years and how other players have been treated. I'll never look at the sport as a fan. The NFL is too much of a business. Don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but that's how it goes.""
Sad to say, I thought of the Jaguars immediately. Anyway it is a great interview about a woman who obviously has a pretty deep understanding of the game. Its a good read.

Eh, I don't think she's nearly as big of a deal as the writer makes her out to be. Nothing she said is groundbreaking in any fashion and I'm never of a fan someone who claims to know something and in the same breath refuses to reveal it.
Also saying teams don't care about winning because of the way her husband has been treated over his career sounds to me like justification as to why he hasn't landed a mega-deal. "Teams don't care about winning because if they did, there would have been a bidding war to sign Brent since he's a great corner."
Vic ketchman pointed this out a while ago.

Frequently, in fact, with his "it's always about the money" answers to questions about player transactions, coaching moves and ownership decisions.

If the Jags only cared about the money they'd have signed Tim Tebow many years ago...

They tried in 2012
Ok, but you have to win to make money.
The only problem I have with the Jaguars is that the team plays like rookies forever. No one actually progresses into a professional here.
Jerry McGuire told us this years ago.
Did she say this before or after she went headbutted the cop?
lol @ thinking this crazy chick is interesting and ground breaking
you're as crazy as her
I have to agree with her and it's not any groundbreaking revelation. Each of these owners became owners because of the money they made. Heck, even Shad Khan said in his Univ. of Illinois guest graduation speech two years ago that his motivation in life is making money. It's what got them where they are, and it's what will keep them there.
Money to these guys is a scorecard. Donald Trump once said in his book, "The Art of the Deal", that money is what they use to keep score. If Ted Turner is worth $3 billion and making $500 million per year then Trump wants to be worth more and make more. That's the mind set of (most) of these guys.
On the football field winning makes them money. No surprise there.

No they dont.Profit sharing and tv contracts make winning secondary or unnecessary
If only you could see further down the rabbit hole.
Am I the only one that thinks that she is bitter because her husband doesn't make more money?

That's a female common trait lol.Tgat doesn't mean she doesn't know what she's talking about.
She sat in my section last year against the Dolphins. She's very obnoxious.
Lamm brought this up last week on the radio too, and I believe it. All about the money. The fans don't matter and the wins don't matter.

And that's not exactly what she's saying? Her only interest is in her husband's paycheck.

Of course she cares about husband's paycheck but she's saying a lot more than you realize
