Last time I saw a QB with potential coming out of VT was Tyrod, I actually posted on this board hoping we would draft Taylor that year in the 4th.
I have watched his highlights, read up on him, and all that jazz.
He looks legit. Like Prescott, and Wilson legit.
If he was available in the 3rd, possibly the 4th I wouldn't hesitate pulling the trigger. Bring in some competition.
He only has one year with VT I know, but just from research, he looks the part.
Very worthy developmental prospect.
Certainly needs grooming and polish, but he's accomplished quite a lot in short time.
It was his first year in D1, and stood shoulder to shoulder with the top of the ACC QBs: Watson, Trubisky, Jackson. His production was quite impressive, in what amounted to a "rookie" season in the same conference.

I'd certainly have him over Kaaya, and it's not close (for me.)
Coughlin doesn't shy away from drafting QBs late. Wouldn't surprise me if he did give the kid a look and felt he was worth the 3rd or 4th RD pick. The only knock on him is just the lack of overall experience but that one year of experience he had was impressive. He's a lot bigger than Tyrod Taylor and Russell Wilson too. Would be an interesting camp with him in the mix for sure.
Thats the type of competition i want at QB... Another young QB with potential. I hope they find a way to add him

Figured I'd throw that out there for those who'd like to see him.
He is a lot bigger than Taylor and Wilson, I agree.
He also gives me flashbacks of one of our own QB's Mr.Garrard. He just is a little bigger.
Apparently played hurt a lot of this year too.
He seams very accurate during key plays.
I posted a thread about him when he declared. I like him as a mid round guy. He's like Blake with a proper throwing motion
This is a guy I've been keeping my eye on for a while. I think he could be a nice developmental quarterback and potentially take the reigns in 2018 if Bortles does Bortles things in 2017.

Jim Druckenmiller
Who are, VT QBs unlike Jerod Evans for 1000, Alex?

LOL.
Logan Thomas, was a good QB prospect with weak arm strength, good vision, but needed 5 seconds every time in the pocket to make a completion.
Evans is raw, talented, very strong armed, quick release, and has the ability to extend plays. The two are not good comparisons.
I was just about to start a thread about him, I mentioned him in a thread a few weeks ago.. He is my sleeper QB of this draft and hopefully we can get him in the 3rd or 4th..

Logans arm was incredibly strong what are you talking about?
I'd love to see the Jaguars enter the season with three qbs... Blake Bortles, Brandon Allen and Jerod Evans.

We already have a young QB with potential. His name is Brandon Allen.

This would be the antithesis of adding legit QB competition to push Bortles this offseason.
