I know these things dont matter but I find it funny ESPN has us ranked 31st and we dropped a spot after the win, but Miami went up a spot ranked 15th, LOL how that works I dont even know.

NFL.com has use ranked 18th, tho I do think thats a big high for us, it shows how bias ESPN is on how they treat the Jaguars compared to others, we are up ten spots, they have Miami at 19 down 5 spots.

If we are so terrible why did the Phins go up after losing to us, if they are so good why did we go down after beating them?

Because these things don't matter

Right. And u know what? These things don't matter. Not yet anyway
I think EPSN is also predicting the outcome of the season as well. They probably think the Jags win was a fluke. NFL is more ranking by the week. I think that's how it should be ranked, by week.

Jaguars.com power rankings make more sense than either to me.

ESPN Mike Dirocco who blogs for the jaguars, thinks it dumb and he writes for ESPN lol

<p style="font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;font-size:16px;color:rgb(51,51,51);">"I'm supposed to analyze and explain how that happened ... but I can't.

<p style="font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;font-size:16px;color:rgb(51,51,51);">There is no logical reason for the Jaguars to win a game and fall one spot or the Dolphins to lose a game and actually gain one spot in the rankings (they're now 15th). That makes no sense. If one of the worst teams in the league beats one of the teams in the top half of league because it played better than that team, there's no way to explain why the winning team loses ground while the losing team gains ground.

<p style="font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;font-size:16px;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Not only did the Jaguars lose a spot, but the teams that were ranked behind them (Tampa Bay and Oakland) each rose three spots after beating teams that were ranked slightly higher than the Dolphins after Week 1. The Raiders are now 28th and the Buccaneers are now 29th.

<p style="font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;font-size:16px;color:rgb(51,51,51);">The Jaguars didn't beat the Dolphins because the Dolphins were without several key players or because the Dolphins turned the ball over five times. The Jaguars out-played the Dolphins -- and did it down six starters by the game's end (LTLuke Joeckel, TE Julius Thomas, DT Sen'Derrick Marks, DE Andre Branch, SSJohnathan Cyprien, and CB Davon House)."

But how are we going to ever get a good bowl game?
I like Prisco's.

He puts us one spot ahead of the team we just beat.

I feel bad for Dirocco working for ESPN. I know its his choice and he probably makes good money, but those blokes hate us!

I'd put us somewhere in between those two polls, being rated #24 seems about right.

Yeah, I get this feeling as well.

Power rankings are supposed to be dynamic. They are supposed to reflect where the teams are at the moment. They are not supposed to reflect someones prediction of the outcome for the season.

Whats the point of doing a week to week ranking if you aren't going to reflect the weekly results in those rankings? You might as well just rank the teams quarterly or bi seasonal.
ESPN is a joke, everyone knows this!

Chris Carter sounds like he's got marbles in his mouth.

And Berman? His shtick, though in the 90s was awesome is now stale and old. And that hair dye ain't fooling anyone.

That Susie kilber is kinda hot, though.

Ps, I really don't like Chris Carter. I generally hate on him whenever one of these espn threads pop up....
There is a reason why some people that I know refer to it as BSPN.
ESPN = Essentially Sponsoring Political Narcissism
