Quote:Why did we kick some tail in the first half, then we became completely incompetent in the 2nd half? We did this last year, and I don't understand it. I feel like the team can't sustain any high level of play.

I am very happy we won. I just want them to do what they did in the first half all the way through.

It seemed to me that they reverted back to what Gus had critized the OC & Blake for doing last week, that is playing it too safe.  Bortles took chances down the field and it paid off, but I guess got more concerned after he was almost picked off on a bad throw to AR15.
Quote:i think its more so being conservative. Bradley preached aggressiveness this week but after coming out of the gate with fire we kinda rode the remaining smoke until the last minutes of the game. We were taking shots down field and the game was moving at a fast pace but it seemed that once the offense stopped driving consistently and mistakes came into play we got conservative. We ran the ball to run clock and it showed with the Dolphins selling out consistently on defense, but to be an elite team we need to keep swinging and not playing like Mayweather fights. it's like we go into counter punch mode after the first half so we dont get blown out and also so we dont make mistakes ourselves to lose as well.

I agree. They play not to lose, not to win. I hate referring to the Patriots so much, but they set the standard. They keep laying it on because they don't want to risk the defense screwing up. They will show no mercy next week.

Love the Mayweather analogy. Lol
Quote:Listen, I'm just curious as to why we fall flat in the 2nd half. I'm really excited we won. The defense really did their job, and made some amazing plays. I'm wondering why the offense scored only 3 points tge last 2 weeks in the second half.

Stop complaining.
I am not complaining I just think its time to enjoy the win and not find fault with the team. these players give every thing they have on the field and when they win they need the fans to support them and not find a reason to question their play
I wouldn't say it was a disaster since we won and our defense held strong, but it is kind of annoying how it is almost guaranteed we will fall flat offensively in the second half of every game.

Dont get me started on Mayweather lol.  I never want us to lose but you're right, the Pats set the standard.  if we are even going to be remotely close to being in this game then we cannot stop whatever is working in either half.  If the run is killing then pound it till they stop it and vice versa with the pass.  Brady is known for making big time throws in critical moments and the only way for that not to hurt us is to already be in the lead.  Just like today, we were up 20-13 so i didn't panic when the game was tied up.  I just stuck with the "Defense Wins Championships" mantra and we pulled it out.  Next week, defense wont do as much to stop the pats but we can't let their defense hinder us on our possessions if we want to fight blow for blow on offense.
Quote:You sound angry. Maybe you should take a break from the MB.
I'm not angry I just think when the players win a game you don't need to complain about thier production in the second half. how bout enyoying the win and supporting the players

This is what happens when you have a defensive minded head coach. Just like Del Rio.  Get the lead and play not to lose.
Glad we won. Hope we improve in the second half of games in the future.

For some the victory can't be enjoyed. They live to bash. They could have won by 30 and this clown would [BLEEP] it wasn't 40.

Obviously, you didn't bother reading. I'm ecstatic the Jags one. Defense did an awesome job. I just want the offense to do the same. Some of you get too defensive about things. And you think I complain.

You did say you were happy about the win, along with a complaint about the quality of said win. They won the game. Enjoy it.
Quote:A female dog is a [BAD WORD REMOVED] are you going to remove that as a bad word.

When used in that context, maybe.

You're such a whining Nancy, and all your opinions are silly and unsubstantiated.

I don't think this will be the case.

If the Jags somehow find themselves with a 30 win there will be a lot of speechless posters in here.
We are a young team. Being good at implementing adjustments and dealing with the other team's adjustments comes with experience.

I think the team learned something today. We saw Bortles go to different receivers on that last drive. It took most of the half, but he finally figured out where he needed to go with the ball in order to adjust to what the phins were doing.

Getting back to the rolling of coverage to Robinson (assuming that is what happened in the 2nd half), I think this has the potential to be a huge learning opportunity for Bortles.

Has he had secondaries do that prior to this game?  Has there been any receiver that has performed well enough for him to warrant that?

If this represents one of the few...if not the first time...secondaries rolled to a receiver for him, I think he will be better equipped to handle that in the future.

Hahahaha. Pathetic
Quote:The biggest difference seems to be they went ahead and rolled coverage to Robinson and did a better job with gap integrity against the run. It's not like Yeldon is a special talent that can't be contained.

TBH, the Jags coaches should have anticipated this and had a good game plan for when it happened.

You do have to wonder why the Jags will look so sluggish in the 2nd half of games where they actually have a good first half.

It seems to happen over and over and over again. It is definitely an area in which the Jags need to improve.
