Quote:Who knows, word is Gratz looked very good in 1 on 1 drills throughout camp. McCray on the other hand, looked horrible against 5th/6th string WRs in the preseason..
I think everyone generally accepts that McCray was not playing full speed and was playing not to get hurt.

I refuse to believe he regressed like that after one year. I still think he was only out there because we were out of bodies at CB to put out there. I mean the Jaguars are one of very few teams that have four competent CBs, and McCray was really just the odd man out, I think.

If he was at risk of injury and not playing full speed, why would Bradley even have him out there? Highly doubtful they would have him out there just to "get him some play time" if he wasn't fully healed in a meaningless game. Maybe Mccray isn't as great as some people make him out to be? I sure remember when everyone though Derek Cox was gonna be the #1 CB and a shut down corner here.

Quote:Well if performance is the reason, when is another coach gonna be ahead of Gus Bradley? He sucks preseason and regular.

Good to see youre ready for the regular season.

As for prior entire season's worth of evaluation, you can be sure Gus hasn't forgot about it. As of right now he feels Gratz is playing better, and that's really all there is to it.

Yeah, I hear ya.  Bear in mind, I'm not freaking out, I'm not calling for anything drastic.  I'm just talking about our jags.  It obviously is in important development that we'll see play out beginning today.  I just hope we see a new version of Gratz that he haven't seen before.  I think I said this in the other thread...  But I really liked Gratz during his rookie year.  He looked like he was gonna be a high level CB.  If he's figured out the NFL game, then that's awesome.

This statement is true.  Have I told you that back in my day McDonalds would offer 2 Big Macs or 2 Quarter Pounders with cheese for $2?  $2!!!!!

No lie...
Ha, dude we lived for 2 for $2. Was like a staple meal many an evening after 'ganjing' during grad school.

Also 39 cents soft tacos in Taco Bell, Atlantic Blvd in da Ville during undergrad.

And $38 AirTran flights with student ID many a trip from Jacksonville...Wink

Where I lived we just had 'em on the dollar menu.
McCray looked like the best corner out there again. I only remember 1 slant that he got beat on that went about 10 yrds. Other than that he looked healthy and played like he did last year. Colvin should not start over McCray in any package. Also the fist time i have seen MCray play left corner and he looked good

You have an obsession with McCray don't you? He did not look like our best CB. There is a reason why Tannehill got 137 passing yards in just 10 passing attempts when Colvin was out.
Colvin is not good. Overrated and overhyped.

Because the Jags were forced to play a guy they just called up from the practice squad? That reason?

McCray played well yesterday.

I just call it how i see it, you are obviously blind. The 137 yards didnt come to McCrays side. McCray played a lot on the left side yesterday in the 2nd half. Colvin plays on the right or he plays inside covering the slot

when Colvin was in he didnt look all that good

Im blind? Go look at the grades and the Jags top performers.

i could care less about the grades o pff, watch the game!
If we are going by pff grades McCray is one of the top corners in the game
Colvin and House were hurt when they were playing, and when they sat out it got worse. I wouldn't target them and say they played bad at all. The issue was Tannehill sitting in the pocket for 8 seconds and no secondary can lock down receivers that long.

I did watch the game, i saw Tannehill throw all over the defense when House and Colvin were out. There is a reason your boy is the 4th string CB.

As per pff,

Aaron Colvin 66 snaps 18 of which were runs gave up 5 passes for 53 yards

Demetrius McCray 64 snaps of which 16 were runs gave up 4 passes for 28 yards

But try again Smile

And yet, hes still a 4th stringer. You all must clearly have a scouts eye to see the talent McCray has that Bradley doesn't see.
