Go on........

Rappaport just reported it. Chose raiders over jags, bucs, and rams.
No thanks.

I would assume not having to buy a new house and move factored into that decision.

Why not?

It's a low risk high reward type of signing. Sign him to a one year deal. If it works, awesome. If not, you didn't lose anything.
Kahlil Mack and Aldon Smith though....
Would have been an interesting move. But I wonder if he is even able to play this season.

Caldwell must really feel desperate to go after that locker room cancer.

He is a great player, one of the best. But he has a lot of problems to solve before thinking about football.

Never heard of him being a locker room cancer, but whatever.
We are one premier pass rusher from being a playoff team.  .

Boom or bust. He should be suspended again in ..3 ..2 ..1

This^... Oh my....

GO JAGS!!

Oh he put in a offer after weighing need, risk and reward.

Raiders probably paid him more.

Caldwell knows what he is doing and likely had a very Jaguar friendly contract offer.

He probably took a more Aldon Smith friendly offer from a franchise that he feels gives him a better chance to start and star.

Here, he'd be a rotational guy and next season a back up to Fowler Jr.

IF he can stay on the field.

Desperate? Nah. Always looking to improve the roster? Hmmm....

No offense man but you used to be one of my favorite posters here and your posts always seemed so well thought out and clear headed. It kinda seems like you've done a complete personality shift. What's going on man? I know loosing sucks but don't let it steal your joy away.

Maybe he'll try to trade Henne to Oakland in exchange for Smith.
While I do not believe this report has any indication of "desperation", afterall certainly if Caldwell was desperate he could have thrown enough money at Aldon Smith to get him here.

It is very interesting and I believe a very positive sign.  Caldwell actively going after these types of players to improve the roster shows the team is past the rebuilding stage, that him and Gus no longer have a free pass to lose.  Winning is certainly more important this year then in years past and that is great news for us fans.

Are we all overlooking what Aldon did to get cut by the 49ers? I just see him being a really bad influence in an NFL locker room.

What he did was outside the locker room.  Only the airport and the roads have to worry about him.
