The Jaguars have entertained trading tight end Julius Thomas. However, the Dolphins are not the only interested trade partner when it comes to the former Pro Bowl receiving threat, according to a league source.

While Thomas may not currently be part of a trade package with the Dolphins for offensive tackle Branden Albert, it doesn't mean the tight end being traded to Miami is off the table. Thomas could be traded in a separate deal to the Dolphins, the source said.

Not that I want to sabotage the deal (or that I could, if I wanted to), but trading for Thomas wouldn't make much sense to me.

This is a pretty good TE class.

I think it would make some sense if you:

1. Believe the Jaguars were using him incorrectly

2. Give up a late rounder, perhaps even a conditional pick

3. Restructure his deal

The fact we were willing to part with him for Albert, who we are now trading a late round pick two years from now for, it's likely that whatever we get back will look similar to this:

I'd trade my own soul for but a bite of that tasty ham sammy. Let alone Uselius Thomas.

Trading for Thomas is the most logical move on Miami's end. Adam Gase coached him in Denver. Two Dolphins tight ends are free agents. They were going to cut Branden Albert anyway. If I was a Dolphins fan, I would love the move.
