apparently the Dolphins want to trade Branden Albert for him

No, Dolphins may have dodged one here.

I can't say picking up a guy like Bucky Brooks wouldn't make us just as good or better than we were with JT.

Sad, but true.

Those betting on JT (and make no mistake I do hope there are teams who do) will have to believe the Jaguars were the anomaly in his career, and not Peyton Manning.

To me, JT looks a lot like all the other bust free agents that have "retired" once they arrived here.  But that's just me.

Apparently the Dolphins are unable to meet his contract demands despite saving over $10 million by trading Albert.
Quote:Thats what I said in the other thread, we can now move him, he is still young and teams will def trade for him, we could get as high as a 4th this year

Acquiring a 4th. would be doable...

NH3...

Good shouts, they're probably the favorites.
Any pick better than a 6th would be great considering the money involved.

We are saving enough(hopefully) with the Odrick and Beachum moves(and maybe Thomas) to throw

enough money at the top free agents to lure them here.

These guys have a choice where they play and if the money is the same they won't pick the Jags over just about any

other team other than maybe the Browns.

So we HAVE to overpay...at least until we start winning again.

At this point there have been no reports about a fourth round pick being an option. I would love that though.
It's the Dolphins.

This makes no sense. Why not just trade the players straight up?

I'd guess it's the same round equivalent as what we're giving for Albert, just a year earlier.

It would make no sense to not include a draft pick.

That just seems silly.

Yeah that makes sense. We traded a 7th round pick in 2018 for him so I guess we get an extra 7th this year.

Do we know it was a 7th in 2018? I never saw that specifically.

It says it in the new miami herald article but I think its just a guess by them
We're back to square one of trading Thomas for Albert at this point since the picks wash out

Odd to say the least.
ESPN is now saying it's a done deal that he's headed to South Beach for a late round pick this year. And he's had to agree to a restructured contract.
