He played with the Allman Brothers Band for 20 something years until they retired last year. He and Warren Haynes, from Asheville, N.C. decided to leave the Allman Bros which was their impetus to retire the band.

 

He had the Derek Trucks band for a lot of years concurrently with the Allman's in which Warren played too. Warren also had Gov't Mule which he still leads today.

 

After marrying Susan, the band is now called the Tedeschi Trucks Band and has played the White House, Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie and many other. Their album, Revelator, won a Grammy two years ago.

 

They live in Mandarin and when at home are regulars in my place. Derek's parents are very nice folks we see several times a month.

 

By the way, when he was voted one of the 100 best guitarists of all time (number 81 I believe) he was the only one under 40 years old.

I listen to a lot of govt mule

Derek and Susan were at the game on Sunday. They were shown on the Jumbotron twice that I saw. I couldn't tell where they were sitting but they were in the general bowl with the real folks.

Thought I saw them in the cabanas, but not certain.

I figured they were in the West side bowl because Susan was wearing a towel on the back of her head shielding the sun from her neck and shoulders and I saw people sitting all around them.
