<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Here’s a player-by-player look at the Jacksonville Jaguars' 53-man roster.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">QUARTERBACK (2)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Blake Bortles: He had a very good preseason, completing 65 percent of his passes. It’s even better (78 percent) when you add in seven drops and take away one spike to stop the clock.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Chad Henne: Calming, veteran presence and a solid backup.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">RUNNING BACK (5)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Denard Robinson: The Jaguars’ leading rusher in 2014 (582 yards) may begin the season as the starter.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">T.J. Yeldon: Will share the load early, but expect him to be the main back by season’s end.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Toby Gerhart: Has been good on third down and short-yardage situations during the preseason.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Bernard Pierce: It’s not clear how much work he’ll get this season, but he had an impressive camp and preseason.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Corey Grant: He’ll work mainly as a kickoff returner.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">WIDE RECEIVER (5)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Allen Robinson: He has regularly made acrobatic and tough catches throughout the offseason. He also flashed some speed with a long catch-and-run on a crossing route. He’s clearly the Jaguars’ No. 1 receiver.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Marqise Lee: No guarantee we’ll see him in the season opener because of a hamstring injury.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Allen Hurns: Led the Jaguars in receiving yards (677) and receiving TDs (six) last season.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Rashad Greene: Rookie fifth-round pick also will be the team’s punt returner.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Bryan Walters: His five-catch performance (for 42 yards and a touchdown) in the preseason finale won him the job. He’s going to have to contribute heavily on special teams to stick.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">TIGHT END (4)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Julius Thomas: He’ll miss the first three games, and when he returns he should instantly become Bortles’ favorite red zone target. Thomas has 27 catches and 17 touchdowns in the red zone over the past two seasons.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Marcedes Lewis: He has had one of his best training camps and told me this is the best he’s felt since 2011.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Clay Harbor: He’s had some issues with drops in the preseason but will get more work in the passing game early with Thomas out.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Nic Jacobs: He’ll be used mainly as a blocker, though he said he worked on being a better receiver throughout the offseason.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">OFFENSIVE LINE (9)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Luke Joeckel: Despite a couple of bad plays, he has had a solid camp and preseason. He has so far been better than he was last season.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Zane Beadles: He held off rookie A.J. Cann to remain the starter. New offensive line coach Doug Marrone is helping him become more consistent.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Stefen Wisniewski: His experience in Greg Olson’s system helped him beat out Luke Bowanko. He’s a workhorse who has missed just three games in four seasons.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Brandon Linder: He was the Jaguars’ best lineman in 2014 and has picked up right where he left off.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Jermey Parnell: Free-agent signee has been impressive and teams with Linder to give the Jaguars a strong right side. Expect a lot of runs to come behind the right side.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Luke Bowanko: Narrowly lost his starting spot to Wisniewski. Getting work at guard and tackle in practice.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">A.J. Cann: The third-round pick is the team’s left guard of the future -- possibly as early as 2016.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Tyler Shatley: Jaguars really like Shatley, who also can play center. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and played in one game.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Sam Young: He can play guard and tackle, and his work at left tackle in the preseason helped him beat out Austin Pasztor, who had started 23 games at right guard and right tackle the past three seasons.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">DEFENSIVE LINE (10)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Chris Clemons: Even with the injuries to Dante Fowler Jr. and Andre Branch, Clemons is now just a third-down rusher.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Sen'Derrick Marks: He’s likely not going to be available to play for the first few weeks as he finishes his rehab from a torn ACL. The Jaguars could have put him on PUP, but he would have had to sit out the first six weeks. He’s the team’s best interior rusher and should have been voted into the Pro Bowl last season.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Roy Miller: The Jaguars will be careful with him because of his knees. Expect him to get plenty of days off and have his reps monitored. That way he can be most effective.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Jared Odrick: He can play end and inside. He’s a much better pass-rusher and more athletic than Red Bryant. He gives the Jaguars some playmaking ability from the outside.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Andre Branch: He is dealing with an MCL sprain and the timetable for his return is uncertain. This is a big season for Branch, who has just 10 sacks in three seasons and is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Abry Jones: He has improved each season and will play a significant role in the tackle rotation behind Miller.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Tyson Alualu: He is one of the team’s most underappreciated players by fans. He can play outside or inside and likely will end up starting in Marks’ spot. He also has been playing some fullback.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Ryan Davis: He has carved out a nice role as an interior rusher on third downs. His 6.5 sacks last season were third on the team behind Marks (8.5) and Clemons (8.0).

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Chris Smith: With the injury to Branch, Smith will get work on first and second down at the Leo spot (pass-rushing defensive end). He had two sacks during the preseason.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Michael Bennett: The Jaguars’ sixth-round pick has been good against the run, but the Jaguars want him to become more active as a pass-rusher. Some draft analysts said he may end up being the steal of the draft.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">LINEBACKER (6)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Paul Posluszny: The Jaguars’ defensive leader has led the team in tackles three of the past four seasons. It’ll be interesting to see how much he plays on third down.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Telvin Smith: He’s undersized, but he can run and he always seems to be around the football (two sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, four pass breakups in 2014). The Jaguars are counting on him to be a playmaker in 2015.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Dan Skuta: The Jaguars signed him to play the Otto (strongside linebacker who can rush and drop in coverage), but he’ll also get some snaps at Leo because of injuries.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">LaRoy Reynolds: He’s also dealing with a sprained MCL. He’s the Jaguars’ best special-teams player and did a decent job as a backup Otto during camp before being injured.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Thurston Armbrister: The undrafted rookie from Miami has had an impressive preseason and nearly had two interceptions in the preseason finale. He can play middle and Otto.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">John Lotulelei: He’s turned into a solid special-teams player. Reynolds’ uncertainty may have impacted the Jaguars’ decision to keep six linebackers.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">CORNERBACK (5)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Davon House: The Jaguars gave him a four-year, $24.5 million contract ($10 million guaranteed) to be a starter despite the fact he started only 14 games in four seasons in Green Bay. He had trouble with consistency with the Packers but has been solid so far with the Jaguars.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Aaron Colvin: The Jaguars worked him as the starter in base defense and moved him inside when the defense is in nickel coverage. He’s arguably the Jaguars’ best corner despite having played in only six games (one start) last season.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Demetrius McCray: He played the entire fourth preseason game, which was a bit of a surprise. He had been working as the starter opposite House early in camp.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Dwayne Gratz: He lost his starting job last season but got it back due to injuries. He’s now the third or fourth corner.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Nick Marshall: Keeping the former Auburn quarterback around as a developmental cornerback says a lot about the depth of the secondary. The Jaguars couldn’t have done this the past two years because of a lack of quality players.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">SAFETY (4)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Johnathan Cyprien: He may not be a big playmaker -- one sack, two forced fumbles and only one interception in his first two seasons -- but the Jaguars are happy with him. He will start at strong safety but also could play some free safety as the Jaguars tinker with interchangeable safeties.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Sergio Brown: He flashed the sideline-to-sideline speed the Jaguars want in a single high safety against the New York Giants in preseason. But can he do it consistently?

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">James Sample: He was pushing Brown for a starting job during OTAs before suffering a fractured forearm. He made his preseason debut against the Redskins last Thursday, and it may be a while before he can get caught up.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Josh Evans: He has started 25 games the past three seasons at free safety but has been moved to strong safety to back up Cyprien.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">SPECIALISTS (3)

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Jason Myers: Nobody, with the exception of Bortles, will be watched more closely in the first few weeks than Myers, whom the team chose over veteran placekicker Josh Scobee. One thing to like about the kid: He’s even-tempered all the time.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Bryan Anger: The punter had a solid camp and preseason.

<p style="font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;font-family:inherit;color:rgb(51,51,51);">Carson Tinker: This will be his third season as the long-snapper.

Thanks for the post. Still worried about our D.

FYI all 32 teams are at espn.com NFL
One would think that an ESPN analyst would be aware that Scobee is no longer our kicker.

He's aware. He wrote an article about it 8 days ago. He clearly stated that the Jags "chose Myers over Scobee" in this article as well.

I don't agree with everything he writes and his outlook on two or three players in this article is a bit too "rosy" IMO, but he definitely is aware of the roster and depth chart.
"Colvin is arguably the Jags best CB"

At least someone agrees with me.

Errrr...it appears he is aware.
