Quote:Just bringing this up again since Irsay pretty much came out and said Pagano was coaching for his job this year.

He actually said the exact opposite.

Irsay did fight back against the rumor, but when a local guy and then 2 reputable national guys put it out there, something is going on.
Regardless, I'm sure we'll still see our share of "Caldwell bring in Pagano PLS!" posts/threads here anyway.

That would be a shame.

I think Pagano is actually a decent coach.

I just don't think he would necessarily be the best guy here.

Since the Jags recent history has been hiring the worst guy, some average coach would be a step up.

I still think Pagano returns to Indy, but it is very possible, imo, that he decides he can't work with Grigson any longer and move on. Pagano's team last year overachieved (I don't count the Arians year towards Pagano), and if his team this year makes it to the playoffs, he's gotten more than the most out of his players once again. With a quality roster, not one assembled by that idiot Grigson, Pagano could conceivably be a Super Bowl coach in his next stop.
