Is there anyone who actually enjoys reading the Ozone? I read it most days and come away each time gaining nothing from it. Ask Vic had way more substance to it in my opinion. Wasn't the biggest fan of Vic but Oehser drives me crazy and not in a good way.
Also for that matter I find the Jaguars media staff to be one of the only areas of the Jaguars not trending upwards..I Shadrick, Sexton and Oehser are unbearable to listen/watch. I'm sure they are very professional and qualified but I just can't relate to their personalities/humor.
I believe new media staff would add so much more to the Jaguars experience but maybe thats just me.
Any thoughts?
I like/liked both. I learned more about football (X's and O's) from Vic.
I do enjoy the Ozone and find it a a worthy successor
I've continued to read Vic every day since he left. I only read the Ozone when I have nothing else to read. Oehser seems to only have stock answers for questions and never really pushes the reader to think or go against traditional thought.
I think the thing that bothers me most with Johnny O is his regular articles always seem to have a spelling error, typo, or misprint in them. I've read Vic since 2006 and can only remember once or twice him having anything like that.
Ketchman is an old school, traditionalist, journalism professional. Oehser seems like a nice guy but he's no Vic. The only thing I like better about Oehser is his appreciation for contemporary music and culture. Ketchman's also old-school when it comes to that so it makes him a bit out of touch with pop culture.
John's a cool dude. He definitely knows his football and it's funny chatting with him because he sounds just like he does in his interviews which also translates onto his articles too. If you've seen a lot of his videos then read his articles, he does a good job putting it on paper like he's talking to you. It's more conversational.
Both are good at what they do. Vic played a big part in getting me REALLY hooked on the Jags and the sport in general from over the pond so he will always be a legend to me. John is far more light hearted and entertaining in general, while Vic was all ball related anecdotes all the time. Each has their own style which I enjoy.
Regarding the rest of the team - JP and Sexton are both very slick for the most part. I for one wish Brian was back on the radio calls - it's the one inexplicable move since Shad has taken charge where they have clearly downgraded. Just don't get it.
Slick isnt the word I would use to describe Shadrick! Then again each to their own and all that jazz.
In my opinion, the Jaguars.com media department is clearly "amateur" at best. I don't necessarily dislike Shadrik or Sexton, I actually do think that they do their best to provide meaningful content. However, the production is horrible. I don't blame the hosts of the "programs" or "segments", I blame it more on the behind-the-scenes people. I mean "Jaguars of the Round Table". Really? Is that even close to being good?
Regarding Oehser vs. Vic, both have their own unique style of journalism, and both do it well.

I don't listen to the radio broadcast anymore since I got Gamepass but from what I've heard Sexton may not have been very good but at least you could understand what he was saying.

Yea, I really feel sorry for the microphone when listening to the radio calls now, more spit than a Welsh speaker. Used to love using Fieldpass/Audiopass in the early days (guessing you used the same?) but glad I can afford Gamepass these days!
I used to read Vic daily for about a year or two, never really caught on to Oehser, I rarely even go on jaguars.com anymore.

Same here. Vic was a daily obsession. I don't dislike Oesher, I just loved the historical perspective Ketchaman gave.

I'll third that.
I miss Vic, and like others don't follow O the same way.
That's not to knock on O, they are just different guys with different appeals.
They club chose to "go young" and brought a local home. One day maybe time will turn him into Vic for the younger generations.
there is going to be a large void in my football reading when Vic decides to retire. I'm just hoping to remember all the historical perspective he has brought to me. He really does a great job of comparing present day issues to those in the past and how the capable former commissioners handled them.
If you pretty much look at any other teams "media" team and they are loads worse out there. I for one, don't think it's that bad. Even Sexton is fine with me. But perhaps because I don't think about how they do as reporters, but rather simply listen and watch what they have to say.
I like Oehser's delivery style and his wit, I just wish he would put a little effort into spell check / grammar. That's one thing that I miss about Vic, how curmudgeonly he was with his product.

Maybe their content could stand to be a bit more crisp. But the content itself is fine. Think about just a couple of years ago. They put out almost no original content.

Oehser is outchea.
I preferred Ask Vic to the O-Zone but the overall quality of the content on Jaguars.com is leaps and bounds better than it was 5 years ago.
It used to be where I was hunting for that kind of Jaguar content, now I can't keep up with it.
I will agree on the production value sometimes but it's also night and day from just a few years ago... and it's free so that's hard to complain about as well.
