Quote:Moving to St. Louis? How misinformed are these guys? They just confirmed a 30 million dollar practice field for next season.
Jason Cole is an idiot and I wish he were held accountable for being completely wrong. I hope you're reading this Jason... YOU ARE WRONG!
I noticed on Twitter it says Cole lives in Gainesville. I am wondering if maybe he got a speeding ticket here or had a girlfriend from Jacksonville that left him. Something to explain his decade of obsession with the team moving.
Quote:I live here. I'm a season ticket holder and I LOOK for Jags marketing down here. I've not seen any. Ok, they advertise on campus at UCF but the average person in this market has seen nothing other than the local media bashing the jags.
Oh, and the Bucs Dolphins game is on two stations here. Jags game? Not on.. We've got work to do.
In your opinion, how does UCF rank in terms of popularity in College Football in the Orlando area, compared to Florida, Florida State, Miami, and any other school?
Quote:Maybe I'm lost on the logic, but the article states the Jags are dragging down the Fins because they (the Jags) have Orlando...but wouldn't moving the Jags to San Diego create the same issue since he's saying the Raiders and Chargers could share a stadium in Carson.
I think maybe it would be an either/or scenario. Jags, Rams, or Oakland and San Diego to move. I personally think that the Jags have a better chance of ending up in London than California.
Khan wouldn't be spending the money he's spent on the 'Bank upgrades if he's looking to move. Between the new scoreboards, party decks and now $30M indoor practice facility it just doesn't make sense. The stadium was functional without those additions and he could have just waited the situation out if he was planning to move. His focus is building the brand in London and that will continue with the potential 20 year commitment he talked about. Not a big fan of the London deal but I'd rather have 7 home games than none.
The crazy thing about these rumors is this was a week that Shad Khan said he wants to continue having the Jaguars play a game in London through at least 2030.
Not to mention, on national TV vs. the Lions last week, the ultra LARGE scoreboards and the pools were highlighted by CBS' announcers.
My sources in the league say that Khan is interested in moving the team to Sioux Falls, SD

Nobody ever accused sports journalists of actually paying attention or basing their writings on facts.

It would be nice if they shared all the facts. All Khan can do is back up his words with his actions and he has continously. The Jaguar's value is still based on perception and not actual value. Khan has made this team extremely profitable in a very short time. Does it suck losing a home game each year? Absolutely. But he makes up for it in so many other different ways.
People who focus on the London game lose sight of Shad's plan of making the Jag's ticket one of the hottest in the NFL (he said that when he bought the team from Weaver). My only concern is that other owners catch on to what he's doing which is turning one of the smallest fan bases in the league to one of the largest. It has nothing to do with moving the team, it has everything to do with making more money than most of the other franchises. Very forward looking on his part. The other owners will get it eventually, but hopefully it will take a decade or so.

Sports writers are a weird bunch to begin with. I remember a few years ago listening to a sports reporter on Jim Rome(?). Anyways, he was complaining that the gift bag he received while covering the Rose Bowl was trash because it was just luggage and a few other things. He then said that in years past it had been a better package and he was disappointed in the Rose Bowl Commission. I about puked. I didn't realize that sports reporters get free presents for getting paid to go to the top sporting events in the country, and then complain when their "gifts" are deemed insufficient.
It is also evident whenever the Super Bowl is somewhere other than Miami or New Orleans and you have to hear them whine about it. For a bunch of people with a job that is completely unnecessary and in the big scheme of things irrelevant, they sure do act entitled. It would be one thing if they actually researched their articles.
I heard the Jags are moving to San Antonio. I'm all in favor of it, only a short drive from where I live.
