Quote:I want Cyp to be good but receivers running wide open 25 yards over the middle of the field can't happen. I want to see what Loston does tomorrow night.
You do realize that receivers 25 yards downfield are not Cyp's responsibility, right?
Quote:Hey! He made a tackle on that play. Sure, it was Dan Skuta that he tackled, but it was a tackle nonetheless.

But thats our negative view on things. It must have been a technique drill.
Why talk about Cyp but praise Telvin who missed plenty of tackles and was stiff armed into the dirt by Leveon in Week 1 of Preseason ? I hate fanatics
Quote:Call me crazy but Cyp is a better version of Chancellor.

You didn't...

Telvin has shown us something. Telvin was a fifth round pick and has 3 times as many big plays in a third as many games started...srs

A lot of the time they are.
Quote:Call me crazy but Cyp is a better version of Chancellor. He gets more tackles than Chancellor. All he needs to do is nab at least 2 picks and that's an easy Pro Bowl status at SS. But the fact that Kam is on the Legion of Boom he gets more exposure. Cyp beat out Kam 114 tackles to 78 tackles. Let's not panic......yet.

I've had a lot to drink tonight....this was a joke right?

(please say yes)
Quote:Sorry but this post is a load of horse poo
You are exactly the type of fan described. Why would you be expected to think any different?

Your not only Crazy but blind too
2013 Cyp had 104 total tackles 87 solo 17 assisted. Along with a sack and 2 fumbles. But the production is claimed to not be there.... Kam Chancellor has had 78 tackles along with 1 forced fumble in 2014, and 99 tackles in 2013 and 1 fumble in 2013. Who has the most production? No1 knew of Kam before that hit on DeMaryius during the SB. Ppl see his 6'3 frame and think of him as the greatest strong safety in the NFL but from a statistical standpoint Cyprien is better. Kam has been in the league longer and in turn had more time to develop in his box safety role, whereas this is Cyp's 3rd year. Cyp has accumulated 218 tackles and 1 int in his 2 year career, and though he needs to get more production in interceptions, you "fanatics" really can't sit here and say with a straight face that Cyp isn't a top SS in the NFL.
Eric Weddle, regarded as the best or one of the best SS in the NFL right now and 2014 Pro Bowler had 115 total tackles, 1 fumble, 1 sack, and 1 pick. Cyp had roughly the same tackle stats in 2014 with 114, he just needs either garner more fumbles, sacks, or ints and he soon garner recognition. Similar situation with Reggie Nelson, a good safety coming out of Florida who came to Jacksonville, who did decent to borderline good, left Jacksonvi to go to Cincy, now he is a TOP 10 FS in the league. You can't undervalue potential, you to let players mold into the scheme they are in. You don't just tell a player who is guaranteed 100+ tackles a year that he is an average joe.

Bruh i know what you mean tho... fo real was thinkin the same thing! Stats dont lie bruh, but you have to think about it this way... Its Bam Bam Champ Kam, and you finna compare dat savage boi to Jonathan Duval? You just cant do that, ya feel me?
Yea yea I know it's going against the grain and going against popular opinion, but most of these people don't know football, the ins and outs of the game, they just regurgitate what they see on ESPN or from highlight tapes. But like you said, stats don't lie.
Cyprien needs to be more consistent against the run and play just a little smarter and quicker versus the pass.

I still think he can get there.

We won't know for a few weeks.

C Loston starts tonight at SS with Evans rotating.

What the hell, did you install a "normal to moron" translation app on your computer? You didn't talk like this before.
Quote:There comes a time when you have to see something on the field. Go look at Bells first long run last week. I hope that isnt a sign of things to come. But we saw it last yr also.

Bell put a move on him. He's on of the best. It happens. If you watched the game, you saw he did really well over all. That was one play. He made for it in others.
Chancellor is bigger than Telvin Smith and hits harder than anybody.  Cyprien is not even comparable.  The only similarity between the two is that they play the same position.

Cyprien had plenty of opportunity to atleast get in his way.

But a major whiff instead. Im rooting for the guy, but he needs to play better.
Stats don't lie but numbers can be deceiving. Statistically Cyprien stacks against any SS in the league but he doesn't have the same impact on the field. With that being said He's going into his third year and should continue to develop.

Quote:Why do Gus and everyone else love him so much? Why is he a 79 OVR in Madden? Why is there no rumblings anywhere about him losing his job? Why is he starring in Jag commercials?

Is this a trick question? Madden rating isn't an accurate measurement of how well someone plays. The problem is the coverage skills and blown assignments. He has some talent and he's all we have so it's hard to be critical. This is a make or break year for both he and Joeckel. If they're going to be staples of this franchise they need to show it in year 3. Otherwise, we're back to open competition and looking for a replacement.
