This is a pretty solid core and they are all fairly young except for Scobee but he just kicks and still has a live leg.
We are hitting on our draft picks.
This team is about to take off. So my question is are we still one draft away or a year of experience away, or.......is the time for a playoff push now?
Mods, please move to Jag forum. Wrong spot, sorry about that.
I think we are just lacking experience I'd say give it another year.
I'd be surprised if we don't go 19-0 this season.
Guys like Anger, Beadles and Skuta are not our core.

Just goes to show if you accidentally tank enough years in a row, the arrow may eventually point in an upward direction.
.... how do you include Beadles but not Joekel ? I'd say that both suck right now but at least Joekel has potential. Beadles already peaked at 0
I think we're a .500 team that is going to show a lot of flashes of being special. A wild card is always in play with a few lucky bounces. We were a couple bad plays away from winning 6-7 last year.
Next year is the year we should fully expect playoffs.
Skuta, Beadles, Anger, Scobee and Cyprien are certainly not core players.
I'd argue the core players as of this moment are Bortles, Allen Robinson, Linder, Thomas, Telvin Smith and maybe Aaron Colvin.
I might be forgetting one or two.
^^
Cyprien not a core player? Huh?
Cyprien needs to make a core play to be a core player.

Cyprien not a core player? Huh?
If he had played better then yes he could be considered a core player. Unfortunately he has not played well. He hasn't played up to his 2nd round pick status.
He still has time to turn it around and take that next step but his time is running out. He has to play better or I'm not sure he's in the starting line up come 2016 and if someone else steps up I could see him not even being on the roster.
I hope not and I hope the light does come on for him and we see the player he was drafted to be. To this point, we have not seen the player.

No, Cyp doesn't make enough big plays to be a core player. Right now, honestly, he's just a guy.
Best case scenario we'll be in the wildcard hunt. Realistically, probably looking at 6-10

He needs to live up to his draft status and show that he's worthy of being a building block before he can be a core player.
I kind of disagree on Skuta not being a core player. He's someone that the team may not see as a long-term building block at Otto, but he will almost certainly hold the position down for at least a couple of years while the team identifies and develops someone younger.
Side note: being a starter does not automatically make you a "core player".

The Jags have a good young core imo...
...but still a draft away
James Sample will outplay Cyprien this year if he gets the chance I guarantee it.

Sample will be playing free safety so...

Was hoping someone would say this so I didn't have to... Again
