What an atmosphere! Attendance soared past 7k, mostly consisting of Rams fans. Cowboys average about 2k at training camp practices. If we use that as a measuring stick that would mean about 5k of the attendance were Rams fans today.... and it sure seemed like it. Not bad for a MONDAY!

Bring back football to LA baby!!
The Rams are still popular in LA, and will call it home soon

Here is a link with the approx attendance spike. Reported at 5,400.

A metro area of nearly 20 million people and the home of the rams for decades gets a 1 time chance to see the old team practice....

Draws 5k rams fans. 7k including "America's team" fans.

A lot of hype for a very unimpressive figure.
Teal Curtain,  were you at Tuesday's practice as well?    The have been reports that a major fight broke out between the two teams.   If you were at practice,  I'm certainly interested in your perspective of what happened that caused the fight and any related thoughts.

Did any player ( s ) stand out positively or negatively for either team.

There's no question that Los Angeles deserves another NFL team.   Like I previously expressed,   I hope somehow that it will be an expansion team unless San Diego or Oakland decide not to make a serious offer for a new stadium to prevent the Chargers and/ or Raiders from moving.

I'm totally against the Rams leaving St. Louis for at least two reasons that can be combined:

1.   St. Louis is stepping up to the plate to build a new NFL stadium.   Dave Peacock and the St. Louis Stadium Task Force as a whole have done a terrific job.

2.   The Rams have not even had a .500 season since 2006.   Expecting support for the team to be at a high level when the product has been subpar is not realistic.   It sets a bad precedent when a team has been below average or worse for a long time and the city is committed to keeping the team.

Also,  I'm very turned off by the way Stan Kroenke has ignored the fans of St. Louis.

Where do you live out there?  We just did a 16 day vacation to SF-LA-SD (checking out Cal Berkeley, CalTech, UCLA, UCSB -- my son is a Sr in HS).   I was loving the non-humidity factor !!!

If you want to spend your life being a "glass is half empty" kind of guy, go right ahead.

Unfortunately, I was not at Tuesdays practice. But I can tell you that there was a lot of jawing back and forth on Monday.

The Rams seemed to be very pumped up with the fan turn out. In fact TJ McDonald as well as Trumaine Johnson were pretty [BAD WORD REMOVED] Dez Bryant wasn't practicing on Monday. They actually told a group of us fans this. They sounded like they thought he was being soft.

I was on the Rams side of the fields most of the day, and reports swirled that even though Dez wasn't practicing, he was doing a lot of instigating form the side line. There was 1 minor scuffle during the day.

Stand outs:

-Tavon Austin is VERY VERY fast. Unstoppable in one on one drills. Caught a 50 yard bomb from Foles in 11 on 11 as well. Scandrick didn't practice. I am thinking Austin is primed for a big year.

-There is no way Case Keenum is 6'1". I swear hes like 5'10".

-The Cowboys were trying a pass rush grouping of Lawrence, Mincey, Hardy, Gregory. That could be pretty nasty.

-Gurley is a very big dude.

If I had to pick 1 team to move, I would pick the Rams. They were  in LA about 50 years before they moved to St Louis.

Jerome Bettis, Eric Dickerson, Kevin Greene, and the Fearsome Foursome are all a great part of NFL history.

I can see the Raiders moving back. That would be great news to all the LA gangbangers lol.

Nobody wants the Chargers lol.

I'm in Pasadena, CA.  Literally 8-9 blocks from CALTECH.  Your son must be pretty intelligent by having those schools as options. What is he thinking about majoring in?

I was in LA this past spring and went to Pasadena for the first time. What a great area. I was sort of stunned though how far it is from the UCLA campus. That is quite a trek for a "home game".
Question to Teal Curtain in case I missed it earlier.

You are a proponent of football in Los Angeles, and if I am not mistaken, you live in that area.

If a team or two relocates to Los Angeles, will you retain your Jaguars allegiances, or will one of the Los Angeles teams become your new favorite team?

That is a very appropriate question Bullseye.

I consider myself a die-hard Jags fan since growing up watching the late 90's of football. I take a lot of grief out here partly because I claim Fred Taylor is more talented then any other teams best all-time RB (I'm pretty good at arguing down the average fan who only knows what ESPN and NFL Network tell them). And winning only 3-5 games a season recently doesn't help.

However, I will never change my allegiance.

I can root for the Rams as an NFC team. Kinda like D6 and his liking of the Lions (IDK which is his #1 team).

Personally I dislike the Raiders and I loathe the Chargers and their fan base.

Having a team in LA also gives me a chance to see the Jags more often. Only time I can see them live is down in SD or if I want to make the drive to AZ.

Ideally, Rams move and Chargers stay in SD. That would be the best reality for me.

Pasadena was nice.  I was surprised with the quaint atmosphere in the area even though it's only a few miles from DTLA.  Pretty cool that you can drive 20 minutes and be in the middle of the forest.

Son -> Engineering & Math -- he got a 2200 on his SAT (including 780 out of 800 on the math portion).  He'll stay on the east coast as he wants GaTech --- I want in state tuition (UF).   Personally,I loved UCLA but he liked Cal Berkeley.  CalTech is intriguing --- take home tests !!   I guess when you have a student body of people that scored perfect SATs it's not really about having them sit in a class and taking an exam.  My daughter liked Pepperdine (which is way out of our financial limitations) -- HA !!

Pepperdine is awesome! Love that the campus overlooks the ocean in Malibu. UCLA's campus is amazing as well. CALTECH is a little different as there is more of a focal point on studies, not the college lifestyle. If you get what I am saying. Those kids will work for NASA or JPL one day (which is a few miles away).
I totally think somebody is watching me because I JUST got an email (from CalTech) for my son to apply for an all expenses paid 3-day seminar which includes engaging in conversation with the CalTech faculty and touring NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

OK enough about him ... let's get to the important things ........ the chicks at UCLA are freaking hot !!   The Pepperdine ones looked totally rich & spoiled and the ones at Berkeley looked like we caught them on their week off from showering.

... Sidenote: UCLA also set up a 1 hour personal engineering tour for him --- their Administrative Staff (Asst CFO and the Deputy Director) went totally out of their way to help us on our 1 day visit of the campus.  Totally amazed me that personnel of a campus this size (within a big city) would take their own time to make certain we got the most out of our visit to their campus.  Just wanted to share that about UCLA (in addition to the hot chicks comment above).

AND you left? lol I am never leaving this place.

UCLA used to be my dream school. Went to Texas Tech in the end but still I want to get another degree there someday. Just moved back to southern California. Nice to see other Jag fans here

  Thanks for your input!

The season ending injury to CB E.J. Gaines makes it that much more important for Trumaine Johnson to have a good season if the Rams are finally going to have a break through season.

In drills between the two teams,  how did the Rams Offensive Line hold up against the Cowboys Defensive Line?    The Rams Offensive Line is probably their greatest question mark.

Regarding the Los Angeles NFL team situation,  one thing that caught my attention is both the Chargers and Raiders are willing to change conferences if necessary.    If the Carson stadium becomes a reality with those two teams playing in Carson,   my guess is the Chargers will be the team that will move to the NFC.   I don't think the NFL will be comfortable with the Raiders annual rivalry with the Chiefs and Broncos ending.
