The phins are apparently parting ways with him.
I remember him being touted as very good back in 2014. Anyone know if he's still playing well?
Tunsil is taking his spot so they are cutting him to save money on his $47mil contract.
Quote:The left tackle hits the open market coming off a down season -- for reference, Pro Football Focus rated him their 65th best offensive tackle in 2016. However, in a league with a dearth of competent left tackles, the two-time Pro Bowler (most recently in 2015) should see some action on the open market.

Oh dear.
Eugene Monroe ties.
This discussion may not end well.
But seriously, I like him... but like you don't know what condition his current condition is in.
He played at about the same level as Beachum last year, but is half a decade older and his injury history is trending in the wrong direction while Beachum a year farther from his ACL should be trending upwards.
Would be mind boggling if this was our LT solution.

I would sign him ASAP.
Though I would prefer Glenn in a trade down, that isn't likely to happen.
He would be an upgrade over Joeckel and Beachum, too.
Who knows? Perhaps he regains his Pro bowl form.

Why would the 32 year old with a myriad of injuries and years of declining play be a better candidate than the 27 year old also former pro bowl caliber player who is now two years removed from an ACL tear?
He's old. Luke Joeckel is the Jags starting LT.
They are keeping him atm because it seems that a team is trading for him..
He's only played a full season once in 9 years. No thanks.
Wonder would we trade House for him. Both players will be cut anyway and both have big needs in those areas.
Few places reporting we are interested in trading for him
Not sure how I would feel about trading for Albert.
At face value, the idea of trading for a 32 year old at any position seems nauseating.
But then again, so does the idea of going into a tackle weak draft with a gaping hole at LT.
I guess it comes down to what we give up to get him.
If it's an expendable player like House or Thomas or Ivory, then go for it. If the Dolphins ask for Ramsey, laugh loudly and hang up the phone immediately.
If there is a pick involved, under no circumstances should anything higher than a 4th round pick be considered.

If they ask for Jalen Ramsey in the trade I would give them two middle fingers and tell them to lose my number. LOL

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports the Jaguars are interested in acquiring LT Branden Albert.
After refusing to pick up LT Kelvin Beachum's four-year team option earlier this week, Jacksonville is again in the market for a blind-side protector for Blake Bortles. Albert is 32 and may not have much left in the tank, but he should have at least 1-2 more years of left tackle in him. Salguero mentions the possibility of an Albert-for-Julius Thomas swap that rids each team of players it doesn't want while helping each other out with a player at a position of need.

If we give up anything of use (like Julius or any draft pick) for a similarly uneven but far older, more expensive, more injury prone, declining player compared to Beachum...
JT for a 32 year old tackle who only played one full season would be a joke.
And just something this franchise would do.
House would be a fair trade, seeing as how we would probably be cutting him anyway
Lol we gonna trade for Albert.

So...wait...you're going to laugh at Albert yet you advocate signing Romo who has played less games over the last two years, and is older. Just brilliant.
I wonder what it would take to get Joe Thomas?

Maybe it's because when healthy Albert and Beachum were at the same level, but when healthy Romo is far better than Bortles.

Fixed
Apparently 'years of declining play' = 1 year. Pro Bowl in 2015.
You put a lot of effort into dissing Bortles for someone that had him as the second best QB in his draft, LOL
