Quote:I feel like Brady would retire before he's ever traded or leaves New England.
That's what everybody used to say about Gabbert and the Jags. only in our case, we never knew a team would be dumb enough to take the dude.

Quote:So let's say that during Tom Brady's four game suspension in New England, Jimmy Garoppolo manages to lead the Patriots to a 3-1 or 4-0 start (which is reasonably possible with the talent and coaching that they have), and in the process; puts up Aaron Rodgers like stats. Brady comes back from his four game suspension, but there's already a lot of talk in the media and in New England about a growing QB controversy. Brady leads the team for the rest of the season, but they are quickly eliminated in the playoffs. There's some heated debate among the upper management in New England about what to do about the Garoppolo/Brady situation. Some feel that while Brady is the face of the franchise; it's now time for them to seriously consider replacing Brady for a younger, upstart QB; in order to ensure the long-term success of the franchise. The Patriots realize that they can overcome the loss of draft picks as a result of DeflateGate by simply trading one of their star players for a couple of picks- and that they have enough confidence in Garoppolo to lead the team forward. After the SB concludes the Patriots drop a bombshell on the football world by announcing that they're looking to trade Tom Brady. Several teams express serious interest- before he's then traded to the Redskins for multiple 1st and 2nd round picks.
It's really not as far-fetched as it sounds; and we know that Bellichick is more than willing to get rid of star players (think back to Randy Moss in 2010 and Lawyer Milloy in 2003) if he thinks that he can replenish them with younger talent. If this were to happen, do you think that the Jags should make a run for Brady? Would a veteran as highly accomplished and experienced as Brady help develop Bortles along further?
These are very, very interesting questions.
