From the beginning, I was opposed to this team taking Manziel in the draft.
In the past, I did not hesitate to post negative stories about him to justify my position in showing him as a dumpster fire.
But there have been signs that he may be turning things around.

I still think he will not succeed as an NFL player.
But this is an argument for the other side.
Manziel will not change his stripes. He can hide them for awhile, but they will reappear.
I wanted Manziel.. I pushed hard for him.. That said, I come to the realization that I'm completely clueless and gave in to a novelty that will never amount to even dog vomit..
I kept going back and forth. He was a real exiting college player who I had to watch every game. He is just small which I thought and still think.
Did he win over Joe Thomas, or did Mike Pettine go to Joe Thomas and say that it would be really nice for Thomas to say that Manziel is redeeming himself?
Johnny might look much better but Joe Thomas being the great Pro he is, is not going to bad mouth a teammate especially to the press. He's going to say he looks better than ever, working really hard and is being a good teammate. Which hopefully is all true. He's not throw Johnny under the bus to media when they ask him about his Qb.
I think he will surprise some people. Still don't see why they pass up the top WR in the draft every year. They should of took Mike Evans if they wanted Manziel
They should of took Evans no matter who they wanted. Since they didnt they should of took Parker this year
I have no doubt that Manziel will get a chance to start for the Browns this season as long as he doesn't do anything stupid off the field.
I would be surprised though if he ever became anything more then an average journeyman QB in the NFL, if even that.
Sure, he might make a few highlight plays here and there, but I am just not convinced that he can ever become an above average or better NFL QB.
He is going to have to prove me wrong.
btw, I wouldn't really expect Joe Thomas to say anything different, especially heading into a new NFL season.
I wanted Manziel badly as well. I think my words were this when they announced Blake Bortles "That TOOL"? Haha....so glad it didn't happen that way.
Everybody deserves another chance at improving their character, but this is a game you either have the talent or you do not. At the present moment he is the best QB the Browns have on their roster, hence why he is the starter & the LT supports him. I am not a fan of the Browns, so it doesn't really matter to me either way but the guy so far as proven to be a donkey butt.
What do you make of Johnny Manziel's sore right elbow keeping him out of the rest of the preseason?
Something or nothing?
He was supposed to get significant playing time in the last 2 preseason games, including time against the other teams 1's.
I have not been a big Johnny fan but I do hope he can fix his life style and have a successful career, even if I dont believe he will turn out to be a star in the NFL.

What do I make of it? It sounds like an injury to a fairly important part of a right-handed quarterback's body is going to keep him from playing. That's something, but he was never going to start this year anyway.
And now the Browns have signed Pat Devlin to the roster. Hmm..

I wanted Devlin badly in like the 5th round when he came out. I also wanted Barkley in the 4th. I clearly have no scouting skills
I compare Manziel to Trump. Manziel totally rode the wave of momentum leading up to the draft BUT when it was time for GMs to make a selection, they went in another direction. Thank God there is a Cleveland in this league so all QBs coming out of College know there is a chance they will be selected in the draft; regardless of capabilities.
I was a fan of him going into the draft. But I don't remember seeing him at any point in the NFL where he has looked like he will be a good quarterback.
the kid sucks, criminal how he went ahead of carr and bridgewater.. it was mike evans that made him look good, and defenses in the nfl can contain his mobility
