Quote:Our schedule isn't that difficult. We should be competitive in all our games and in the 5-7 win range, anything less and Gus' seat will be heating up considerably
5 wins would be completely unacceptable, imo.

Not just from Gus, but Bortles... Caldwell... 5 wins? Nah... we took a step back so that we could make strides forward, not baby steps.

I'm more of a patient fan than most.

Anything less than 6 wins is FAILURE.

Anything less than 8 is disappointing but somewhat expected.

10 or more is probably over-achieving.

We have to win WEEK ONE.

My man! As said repeatedly, Coach Bradley has to do all he personally can to oust a 7-9 haveable squad on opening day. If not, then get ready to claw incessantly n get Miami. An 0-2 start after 2 home games can snowball southward, beyond X, 0s and personnel.

An 0-2 start, can also end 14-2; it's how you finish, it's about progress over time... I get all that. But I'll take the early, I belong, start. When doubt crawls in...

Go Jags!
I'm still thinking 6 wins. I would love more of course. But I just want us to be in every game. Id rather have a close heart breaking L than to just get killed and feel embarrassed.

As for me, I believe that the Jags can win somewhere between 6 and 9 games this season.

If the Jags lose three close games and they end up with 6 wins then that would be fine with me.

If somehow the Jaguar Jinx would suddenly disappear, then the team might pull out 9 wins with some playoff talk.

I believe that this is a very talented roster, but it is very young.

If say the team went the way of Brandon Linder, then we just might have "lightning in a bottle."

I'd be ok with 6 if we can get at least 3 by the end of October (game 7) and keep us in the hunt for a little

I'd be happy with 7

Real happy with 8-9

Ecstatic with 10+

Win the first 2 and it's a different season.

Last three years we've strolled into November with 8 to 10 losses and 1 to 2 wins.  We need to be floating around .500 come November.  If we burn out for the rest of the season, Gus is gone.  If we start 1-5 and are out of playoff contention in October with bad losses then Gus is fired.

I thinking 6-8 wins. I'm a realist so I'd say 7

5 or more wins buys Gus another season, but fans would not be happy with 5 or fewer wins.

6 wins ignites optimism for 2016.

7 wins validates that the arrow is pointing up for the future.

8 or more wins.....Gus wins Coach of the Year.
For us to start off strong the offense won't be the key factor, the defense will be. If we win it will be ugly wins, at least for the first couple games, then I think there be a loud click and the offense will begin to carry it's share of the load. 10 wins

Don't hold your breath on that one. The people that vote on that would not look at awarding anything for the Jaguars. We could probably come up short of a Super Bowl and still be over looked. Just embrace being the under dog. It's going to suit us well especially early.

Go Jags!

Huh?
Let look at this from strength of opponent.

Winnable games:

Week 1 @ Home vs Panthers

Week 5 @ Tampa Bay vs Bucs

Week 11 @ Home vs Titans

Week 13 @ Tenn vs Titans

Week 15 @ Home vs Falcons (Must get after Matt Ryan here. More than likely will be missing a WR due to injury)

These are 5 games we HAVE to win!

Games that could go either way:

Week 2 @ Home vs Dolphins

Week 6 @ Home vs Texans

Week 12 @ Home vs Chargers

Week 16 @ New Orleans vs Saints

Week 17 @ Houston vs Texans

I'm hopeful we can squeak out 2-3 of these games.

Games we should expect to lose, but that doesn't mean we can't be competitive.

Week 3 @ New England vs Patriots (IDC if Brady is playing or not, still will be very tough in NE)

Week 4 @ Indianapolis vs Colts

Week 7 @ Home* vs Bills (Notice the * next to home)

Week 8  @ Baltimore vs Ravens

Week 14 @ Home vs Colts

Thoughts?

If we go 4 - 2 - 1 in your breakdown I think that will be overachieving by most standards.

You may not know it but you're an Optimist.
