If you read the entire transcripts he doesn't have a leg to stand on. His ego is writing checks the facts can't cash.

The NFL was a step ahead of Brady/The Pats/The Legal team. They filed this before they did and got the case in Manhattan federal court. Brady and his crew wanted it in a city in Minnesota which would have been, supposedly, much better for them.

The Minnesota Judge vacated the case to New York. The NFLPA has until Aug 13 to respond.
Of course, Brady's liar, er lawyer said the venue doesn't matter.

The NY judge was appointed by Bill Clinton, so there is some thought he could be more favorable to the union than the league. Who knows at this point what is going to happen.
I do wish it would hurry up and end. It's a small story that has gotten blown up way too big.

With that said, the judge they would have gotten in Minnesota is the judge that was lenient to Adrian Peterson. It was a really smart move to submit in New York before them.
Even the Minn judge was like why are you submitting this here? He plays in New England, union is in DC, and the league office is in NY. How did Minn come into play? lol

I agree, Goodell must go.

Goodell already fell out of favor with Kraft. Probably needs a couple more of the bigger owners to fall in line before that idiot gets tossed.

Opposite is true.
Judge in MN likely more favorable to league, judge in NY likely more favorable to union.

The opposite is true - at least re the judge in Minn. A number of cases have been heard by the judge there - all favorable to the NFLPA.
The judge is NY is presumed to be a little more favorable to the union, as he was appointed by a Democrat (Bill Clinton), but no one really has a clue. It seems, so far, that he wants this resolved by the parties working it out rather than full judicial style hearing.

There was a lawyer on I believe the Dan Patrick show talking about this. He said the NFL preemptively filed in NY to get a more favorable judge because they believed Brady would file in MN.

He also stated that he personally sided with Brady but he thought the courts would favor the NFL because the Federal Court has little interest in overturning arbitration if they believe due diligence was done in process. That would be a hard case for Brady to prove due to the amount of investigating the NFL has done and the detailed reports they have filed.

you can show lack of substantive due process because Goddell both heard the appeal and he was intimately involved in the underlying punishment to begin with. Also in these cases substantive due process should also include the league demonstrating a measure of fairness in their ruling.
Brett favre got 50k for non cooperation. Von miller was suspended 2 extra games when he got popped for PED's when the standard penalty was 4. In Brady's case you're talking about four games when the original penalty for tampering with the balls is just a 25k fine. The defense has a case.
