Can someone please remind me what Gerhert (aka - The Horse) stated in his interview to pump everyone up?   I believe the dude stated that he was one of the best RBs in the league or something like that .......

Also, from a RB perspective, my preference is that he keeps in shape and learns the playbook.   It's more important for the WRs to work with Black to get their timing routes down.

It's an Alabama thing I guess. I don't care honestly. He's a big kid to be playing RB at this level. Hopefully he learns quickly to keep his body low and square and don't carry it upright so much. Eddie George had to make the same transition. I think he'll be fine though. I'll wait until pre-season first before I pass any judgement on the kid.

He's just here so he won't get fined. He's all about that action boss.

Good, lessens the chance of him saying something stupid.

Gabbert seemed like the happiest/nicest dude in his interviews. That's why he was so good.
Sheesh, I don't blame him for wanting to go home to Daphne, be with his people, and just chill for a month. He's been in football mode for a full year at this point, and on Friday a long 2015 season starts. It's about 23 weeks of football, assuming the Jags season ends week 17.

He seems like a private person, not too media-savvy. Reminds me of Fred Taylor when he got here.
Quote:Or is T.J. Yeldon just kinda.........I guess either snobbish, or seemingly disinterested? I mean, don't get me wrong, as long as he performs on the field, that's pretty much all that matters. But compare his demeanor say, MJD or Freddie, and dude just doesn't seem passionate. He had a prime opportunity to work with Blake these past 5 weeks to pick up and learn and yet he spent time at home by himself. I don't even care much about that if dude at least spent like a week or something.
You clearly weren't around for the early years of Fred Taylor.

Seems to me some folks are just looking for anything they can grasp at to complain.  Such is the dead zone.

Remember when people complained that Fred wore gold chains and had an entourage?

You forgot the grill.

Taylor was a terrible interview when he was a rookie.  He completely reinvented himself over the years, but he was painfully shy and it was evident in his interviews early on.
Yesterday while watching Yeldon's interview I thought to myself, "it's going to be cool getting to see a guy like Yeldon grow and mature in front of us."

I didn't follow the Jags when Taylor was a rookie so I don't know how that was but from everything I've heard is that what he became was nothing like his rookie year.

I see the same thing happening in the case of Yeldon. I don't know if he'll ever be as great a interview as Fred became but I have no doubt we'll see Yeldon mature into a pro on and off the field. Because he is at the RB position there will always be tons of interviews for him and I think he'll be fine eventually.
It was painful and hard to watch/listen to Fred the first couple of years... half the time I couldn't understand him and would have to watch the interviews a couple of times just to try to understand what he said...

To answer the title of this thread, yes it's just you OP.

I was a young kid with little to no access to interwebs in Taylor's early years. And that's fine too but as it says above in large enough font for all to see, I wasn't complaining. I was merely making an observation and that was it. Please don't misinterpret the two.

This is was more my 2nd thought.

Just stop. You are embarrassing yourself.
How am I embarrassing myself? That's a vague statement that should get a bit more elaborate insight.
Did I ever say that I had an issue with mr. Skittles's interviewing skills? Nope, I think it's awesome to be honest. You're embarrassing yourself by not being able to grasp yet again what I said in the orginal post.

You replied seriously to someone making an obvious (to everyone else) joke. That, plus your original post in this thread, is embarrassing.
Seriously BigJag57 give the kid a break. I wouldn't read into every interview so deeply, and if he seems disinterested in an interview (that in the long run means absolutely nothing) than maybe he is focusing on other things like fighting to earn his spot. I've liked everything i've heard about him so far, and I'm sure you'll forget all about your little gripe when he is a solid NFL rusher.

I met him a few time at bars and social gatherings in tuscaloosa. Living here you met and interact with most players on alabamas team. hew was a nice guy but very quiet and stand offish. He also didnt get sloppy drunk very resposible guy from what i could tell.
