Quote:On part 2, I found the analysis on the Louis Delmas INT to be particularly interesting. Cosell asserts there was not enough space between the receivers to keep Delmas from covering both receivers.
How did that happen? Was it a matter of poor play design? Was it a case of that play that should have been called on the far side of the field as opposed to the short side?
Were the receivers misaligned pre-snap, or were their routes incorrectly run?
Dang, thats a good question.
Quote:Fisch wasn't doing Bortles any favors. I expect Bortles to improve on his decisionmaking, Olson to call better plays, and the rest of the offense to step up
I agree.
And i feel a little hesitant to say this .... because i've said it before....
I believe this year our offense SHOULD do better.

It would be hard to be any worse then last year.
Something I did notice from the pictures was line of scrimmage and relationship to first down marker, if you look at the Steelers pick he has a wide open relief underneath but chooses to push the ball further down the field, my guess it was 3 rd down and he was trying to get the first, that's one aspect that can change a lot of our fortunes, we spent way too much time last year behind down and distance then asked our rookie QB to bail us out
Quote:It would be hard to be any worse then last year.
I've said that before, too. Nothing would surprise me from here on out.
I said all last year that for the good hurns, lee and robinson showed they all hung bortles out to dry with multiple instances of them simply not fighting for the ball.
You dont even have to ask about shorts he has been doing that since he let v.davis punk him for a gabbert throw.
Robinson and Shorts in particular did this tons last year and i found myself constantly yelling for them to fight through the DB and man up to make the play.
I have no hope for Blake Bortles because he wasn't even good in college and think he was way over drafted by 1 round, but I hope I'm proven wrong. But with our luck at drafting, I just don't see it. QB's rarely ever turn it around. Unless you're Payton Manning or Big Ben, but Bortles is far from those types of prospects.
Oh and blaming it on rookie wide receivers is just a lame cop out and damage control. Sure there's gonna be drops with rookies, but man was he terribly inaccurate, forced passes, a lot of times made horrible throws not giving his guys chances.
Look I'm not the type to defend a guy just because he plays for my team. Lmao I remember when I was in 10th grade, I was banned from BCC for saying Blaine Gabbert won't ever be a good QB and calling him terrible.

You are trolling hard on some Anti-Bortles stuff aren't you?
Sad...
Who is this Payton Manning?
How many games did Bridgewater win?
And Carr?
I'm just wondering, if these cats were head and shoulders better, and you're all on their jock....
You wanna provide some analysis or just sit there poking at the cpu until you get a bite?
Well... you got one.

Lol you know I'm right. BB was never good. We'll be looking for another one this upcoming draft or the next.

The argument of someone who has literally nothing to substantiate his opinion.
Sounds like someone was butthurt Ted was passed to become what, for all intents and purposes, was a second rounder.
Not buying this "we" nonsense, either. This kid seems more like a Tampa fan.
How much of it was the OC's fault if any?
Quote:Lol you know I'm right. BB was never good. We'll be looking for another one this upcoming draft or the next.
No. I don't know you're right.
BB wasn't good last season, you are correct, in a sense, there.
But that's speaking overall. In spots, in certain games, he showed us some throws that made us giddy.
Maybe not you "us" but the real "us" us.
Troll hard, troll harder.
Quote:How much of it was the OC's fault if any?
Personally, I don't blame the OCs.
Like ever....
Sure play calling might not have been the greatest but when your QB takes a beating, as an OC you could grow fearful for him.
Maybe Jedd wasn't any good as an OC. (He sure didn't get snatched up too quick did he?)
But Bortles was a rookie. Not truly ready to start (though many of us, myself included, clamored for it to be)
He had a weak Oline and rookies all around him.
Some say "excuses". I say "truth".
But the time for "excuses" is over. Bortles in year 2, with pieces around him, and a team in totality in year 3 of a rebuild should show you REAL progress.
But I doubt we give up on Bortles after year. And I'm certain anyone who can deem Bortles a bust or a career backup or whatever after such little time, is a fool of a tool of an idiot.

What we have here folks is a new level of trolling.
Sad, but true.
Here is where I would usually put the link for Blake Bortles college football highlights, including wins against Teddy and his Louisville Cardinals (at Louisville) and the Baylor Bears in the 2014 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, but you are just not worth it.
P.S. One rookie season does NOT make a QB.
