I think Sherman. He does have a great team around him which the others might not have. I believe he has reached the area that Revis was at and still has years ahead of him. However Revis is still good.

Also Peterson is still very good.

Not according to how his 2014 season went. The guy is close to being the top paid CB in the NFL, but in 2014 he got abused by the likes of DeSean Jackson, Reuben Randle, and Jeremy Maclin, and that's without considering the fact that Calvin Johnson has always pwned him. Peterson was outstanding 2-3 years ago, but he was a hot mess last year. The Cards were ranked 27th in passing yards allowed per game in 14. The game's best CB doesn't play on a team that gives up that many yards.

Quote:PS Sherman would not be able to guard Jimmy Smith. He LOVED playing against the press.
If Seattle had to face the Jags teams from the 90's and early-mid 2000's, they would be straight up abused. Man, it's amazing that we didn't win a SB during that time period. Thanks Fisher!

You know the Jags fell apart in 2000, right?

I don't think it'd be a beatdown. If the present Seahawks played the 99 Jags it'd still be pretty close.

The Seahawks defense is very fundamentally sound and they're unstoppable when everyone does their part.

By 2005 they were back in the playoffs. 06 would have been another playoff push, but riddled with injuries and I think that was the year Garrard crapped the bed in the TN game and we lost our final 3 games to finish 8-8.

07 was a playoff year (and we beat Pitt twice in Pitt)

Had we had a competent QB situation, the 2000s could have been glorious.

But yeah, the EARLY 2000s was cap hell and our team wasn't as good as it should have been coming off that 99 season
I just saw that Revis is only 30! It seems like he has been around forever.
1 Peterson

2 Revis

3 Sherman

The top two play every where, Sherman does not.

Yeah. Plus, Sherman's technique is playing press. As one other poster noted on here, Jimmy Smith would have killed Sherman with that technique.

Peterson over Revis? Lol

Revis would never get burned the way Peterson did last year and the year before. Peterson is a good corner and is asked to do much more than Sherman but he is no Revis. Haden>Peterson
Sherman is the best on the left side but you can line Revis or Peterson up anywhere on the field. If we had Sherman teams would just put their best WR on the left side or in the slot but if we had Revis he would line up wherever the other teams best WR is
Revis. Seattles schemebis designed to funnel plays to the outside for easy big hits and ints for the outside corners and the single high safety.

Sherman ends up in alot of press and release to zone situations behind a monster pass rush. Its the same thing that makes baltimore and pittsburgh CBs look good too. He simply doesnt have to work hard.

Revis on the other hand has proven himself and made his name strictly off man coverage shadowing WRs of the highest caliber wherever they roamed.
I'm glad we settled that.

Quote:Awful. He was straight up abused last year. Not even close.

It is, was, and likely will be Revis. The guy plays the best press man coverage in football.
He said based on pure athletic ability.

He's probably right.
