Well, if you're gonna go, go with a bang right?
Still doesn't top the guy who put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger to see if it was loaded.
(spoiler alert: it was)

That's a mistake you make only once.
How do you not know a softball sized firework is lit?

Copious amounts of alcohol would be my guess.

"Huh huh, hey Beavis, see that firework that Stewart's holding?"
"Heh heh, yeah. Heh heh, what about it?"
"Uhhhh huh huh, I'm, like, gonna go light it."
"Oh. Heh heh. Good idea. Heh heh. FIRE!"
"Uhhhh, like, stay here and make sure he doesn't see me."

Again...a mistake you make only once.

Technically, it's still a mistake if you're checking to see if it's loaded and it's not. So you can make that mistake twice.

Did that actually happen? I thought that was just an urban legend. Bonus points to that guy if it's true.

I suppose if it's a small-calibre round and you point the gun at exactly the right angle, you
could conceivably make either mistake twice. Indefinitely, actually, if you keep piercing your cheek.
