Following their bungled pursuit of New England Patriots personnel man Nick Caserio, the Houston Texans appear to be wading into the 2019 season without a general manager.

It's probably not the worst thing in the world to wait if O'Brien is on a short leash. That allows a new GM to come in and hire his own coach if O'Brien underwhelms this season. Of course, the ownership's pursuit of Caserio was likely a sign that they're committed to O'Brien until the cows come home. They're not good at hiring GMs, so with any luck they'll pick another bad drafter!

Brian Gaine's first draft was one of our franchise's best.. considering we didn't even have a first or second round picks.

If this year's class turns out as good somebody will pick him up.
