He's only 23 years old. His best football is ahead of him.

Cisco just keeps on improving.
This whole secondary has stepped up. They give up some yardage but make enough plays when it counts. https://twitter.com/DanDGriffis/status/1...25567?s=20
Cisco is by far my favorite player on this defense...
He's gonna be a superstar very soon. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Cisco is a top 5 safety in this league. He is on his way to an All Pro season
Dudes were calling me crazy when I told them Cisco was $$$ his rookie year.
The dude is just a ball hawk. More than that? He can support the run. He's always right there where the play is. Cisco is just so good. I'd rather take money from Josh Allen and pay Cisco and then let Allen decide if he want's to be a Jaguar at 17 Million. If not, we have other needs we can pick up. But Cisco is money. The way he destroys KC recievers is worth it in and of itself!! (10-15-2023, 04:30 PM)carp8dm Wrote: Dudes were calling me crazy when I told them Cisco was $$$ his rookie year.0 - 3 against KC. Need more than just Cisco but I hear you... Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Cisco doesn’t make half his plays with out a pass rush…. (10-15-2023, 04:30 PM)carp8dm Wrote: Dudes were calling me crazy when I told them Cisco was $$$ his rookie year. Everybody and their mother knew Cisco was a playmaker right from the get-go. Urby urb couldn't muster the courage to overcome his "seniority" fetish on the field that he had against Cisco in his rookie year - and many of us were clamoring for that boneheaded buffoon to put Cisco in regularly. So glad he's getting the recognition he deserves outside of Jax.
He is playing at a pro bowl level.
He is part of the young core of the defense. The young man has some of the best ball skills of any safety in the league.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
Secondary is looking stout. Williams is going crazy. Campbell is doing his thing. Cisco is a ballhawk. Jenkins is a hard hitter. Herndon is our Terry Cousin.

Bumping this older thread because...I don't think he's ever been a good cover safety.
He plays Free safety right? He's the dude that needs to be the ball hawk right? The better cover of the two safeties? Glad we found out before we gave him the bag. Next season I'd like for us to spend the $$$ on bringing in a good free safety. Fast, can cover, can make a tackle when needed. Someone that is good now, but might not be on a good team.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone. (10-28-2024, 02:17 PM)AnOldBrownie Wrote: Bumping this older thread because...I don't think he's ever been a good cover safety. He was the free safety before they yanked Antonio Johnson and inserted Savage. Now Savage is the primary FS and Cisco plays mostly SS, but they do interchange a bit still. They both are playing very poorly, so... not sure it would matter much, but I don't think Cisco is best utilized at SS instead of FS. Seems like a dumb move IMO. Cisco has regressed so much under Nielsen. He’s had a disaster contract year, last year we were talking about how much of a ball hawk he had become.
Tashaun Gipson is supposed to return eventually, Cisco probably heads straight to the bench when that happens.
The only time I thought Cisco was an "ok" safety was at the end of the 22/23 season. Other than that I've always felt the Jags overrated him as far as his all around play. His positional play has always been in question. The things he should be doing instinctually, as a safety, aren't good. Are they OK against poor to average QBs? Sure. But the Jags need better than that.
Permanently replace Cisco and Devon Lloyd with better players and the defense becomes a better defense.

He looked good in the first half of the '23 season before that losing streak kicked in. Nothing since minus a few thumping hits over the middle or at the boundary when the QB held the ball long enough for him to get close to his guy. |
