Jaxson De Ville catches flak from ESPN for sign he had at game yesterday
|
Quote:I don't get what the big deal was, he made a sign and SNL made an Ebola parody. Whoopdee doo. The explanation is simple.. The paradox equation of said lampoonery is met with exacerbattedness is a simple didactic, for the undergarments of mass fancy lads of this nation is bound tight in the crack of their fundament. Quote:I just don't think we, as a country, have absorbed the impact that this disease has had in Northern Africa. Honestly, I laughed at the game then did some research the next day and changed my position on the subject matter. All in all, I think it was an honest mistake that don't merit anything but an apology. For the record, approximately 4,000 people have died in Northern Africa from Ebola in 2014. Just imagine 4,000 Floridians dying from a spreading disease with no help on the way. Now compare that to the number of people that die each year from things like drowning, fires, vehicular accidents, etc. I never want to hear another joke involving water, fire, or cars. PC nazis are something else. Heck, 760,000 children under 5 diarreah. I better not hear any poop references (ie. "scared poopless").
Quote:Now compare that to the number of people that die each year from things like drowning, fires, vehicular accidents, etc. I never want to hear another joke involving water, fire, or cars. Ok, get this.. A guy who defecated himself while driving that got into an accident who's car burst into flames and was put out using water by the fire department almost drowned, walks into a bar..
I forgot to mention the guy who walked into the bar, ordered an Ebola Cola..
Quote:Ok, get this.. i thought this was going to be a true story, where the diarrhea somehow saved his life.... at least i was hoping...

Quote:Ok, get this.. Mods, please ban this user for insensativity. Quote:So as long as it doesn't affect the USA ( yet?) it doesn't matter? Gotcha. SMH, what?
Quote:SMH, what?Someone mentioned it only affects .0001 in the States, so basically why the big fuss? My reply was in the realm of sarcasm.Like if it doesnt affect us here, why bother worrying about it Someone in the US died today from it. Its not a joke anymore Anyway, its over with. Whats done is done.
Quote:Someone mentioned it only affects .0001 in the States, so basically why the big fuss? Like I said, MANY more people die from diarrhea than ebola. Where is the outrage when people say things like "you're full of crap!"? Quit being a PC baby. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Eddie Murphy made jokes about AIDS and is still successful.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Quote:Eddie Murphy made jokes about AIDS and is still successful. If he was a Jags mascot the media would have frowned on him too. Thats all this is....another way for the national media [BLEEP] to bash something Jaguars. Quote:Why? Does the sign in anyway imply that he wishes anyone would get ebola? That Steelers fans towels carry ebola and they will get that? Are people so sensitive that they can't see this for what it really is? Does everything have to be deemed offensive by some?"Why?", because it makes fun of a disease that's killing people. I'm not sure how anyone finds humor in that type of "joke". I'm sure there was no ill intent, but that doesn't change the fact that it was insensitive. Simply because Ebola has not impacted your life doesn't make it meaningless to others. I doubt the sign would be as well received in Northern Africa, for example. Were it a joke about a problem more common here in the US, would it still be as funny? What's next weeks theme? Aids? Breast cancer? Racial jokes? Gay jokes? Drunk driver running over school kids jokes?
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

Quote: Many of the above have been used as comedy by many of the so called best comedians in their day. Remember Eddie Murphy?? People are too damn uptight these days. Too many people are faux offended over [BLEEP].
Quote:"Why?", because it makes fun of a disease that's killing people. I'm not sure how anyone finds humor in that type of "joke". Do you agree, then, that no jokes should ever be told that contain any reference to water, fire, or diarrhea (among other things)? Just about any subject will offend someone, so you must support the ending of all joke telling.

If ebola (there I said it) wasn't big in the current news cycle it wouldn't have meant a thing.
Shoulda said bird flu or something else.
Because Jaguars is our mantra
