Second round pick

Guess you knew Teddy would drop 2 years ago... and Rodgers before that....

For the record, there were many evaluators who didn't see Ted as a first round value.  If it weren't for trading up to get ahead of the Texans, he wouldn't have been.

There was no "drop."  If anything, you could argue it was a rise, albeit a single selection upward (since he was headed certainly for the Texans in round 2.)

It was not a rise because he would have been selected only one pick later.

Before the draft how many people thought he would drop to the second round?

Who in the good lord's name said Teddy Bridgewater was going to go in the second round? The talk around the league was that he was going #1 overall. The few people that actually thought we would take Bortles thought so because they figured teddy would go #1.

2012 was seriously the only draft in recent history to have one QB taken in the first, and the leading hype man was Geno Smith.

It wasn't a surprise to who? Nobody expected him to drop to #32.

FA comes first.

If the Jags sign Eric Weddle, Alex Mack and 2 pass rushers, who knows what our draft might look like.

Whether we sign Alex Mack or not has no effect on the probability of selecting defensive players in the first two or three rounds. We need defensive players more than anything.

First things first, let's see which pass rushers get tagged by their teams. That is likely to have a big effect on which UFAs we can get.

Going back to the second round draft order, would you want to trade with any of the teams (excluding Tennessee, of course) that pick before us? Would you do it to leapfrog a team or to catch a falling player?

Yeah that ain't happening anymore. He earned himself a bump in draft stock this weekend.

No, this team needs all the current and future picks.  This team is not one player away.

I get the argument that it should be the best player available, but I think it will probably end up being a DT or DE, simply because there appear to be more of them available this year. (Unless we decide one of the linebackers is really worth having).

In contrast I'm not sure there will be any CBs or safeties worth having in round two, so that might persuade us that it's worth taking one in the first round...

Bucky Brooks seems like an idiot.

Most mock drafts created right now are just to generate buzz.

All mock drafts are just to generate buzz. Nobody knows what will happen at the combine this month.
