Though the tweet I posted prior was directly contradicted by this one:

<p class="" style="font-size:26px;">It sounds like the first pack of seven in the Suh sweepstakes are: <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Raiders?src=hash'>#Raiders</a>, <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Dolphins?src=hash'>#Dolphins</a>, <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Bears?src=hash'>#Bears</a>, <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Jaguars?src=hash'>#Jaguars</a>, <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Giants?src=hash'>#Giants</a>, <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Chargers?src=hash'>#Chargers</a> and <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Lions?src=hash'>#Lions</a>.

Quote:I really do wonder if he will be willing to mess with the taxes here in California. Given if they offer enough that it offsets the taxes it wouldnt matter anyways.

He is willing to pay huge fines to the NFL for illegal hits, so why not?

The Raiders can win a bidding war with anybody even when taxes are taken into account.

McCourty should be a priority. Maxwell would be nice too, he's better and younger than Ross and can give us an experienced corner.

The Dolphins would have to cut some of their richer players to sign Suh. The Raiders don't have that problem.

At this point, it seems like all the "insiders" are just throwing stuff out there in the hopes they'll get something right.

I won't be mad if the Jaguars somehow don't sign Suh but I will be if the Dolphins sign him.

Something about Miami rubs me the wrong way.

If Miami signs Suh we cab pretty much get Clay if we go that route since they won't be able to afford to match

Uh, you do realize Ross is not a starter at cornerback in Jacksonville, right?

The starting cornerbacks have a bright future ahead of them if they are not demoted by the signing of a free agent. Their names are Aaron Colvin and Demetrius McCray. Let's spend the money where we actually need to.

realistically i think patching up the OL and TE are the most important pieces we could get from FA. so im hoping for guys like bulaga, wisniewski, j thomas.... and then other guys would just be a bonus.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Obviously. I never read any reports about the Bears or Giants being interested.

Schefter is the most reliable I've seen, if he says something it's most likely happened.

Because players never get injured? It's the reason we had players like Winston Guy playing last year...terrible depth. We have perfectly fine young WRs and CBs but we could add someone to mix it up, none of these kids should be locked in starters.

That is what late draft picks are for. You don't sign a big name free agent to be a backup.

Or you could sign the best players available to make your team the best possible...

Starting with the guys you need most. After you fill the urgent needs like free safety and right  tackle, you go after people like cornerbacks and wide receivers.

I'd agree if we had 3 year starter established all-pro corners. We don't. We have 2 young players who have started about 18 (guessing) games between them. McCray has looked really good and Colvin is promising but I'd say Maxwell could beat one of them out. Nothing wrong with that, make them fight to become better.

Like I said, Maxwell would be nice. I said McCourty should be priority. I don't know enough about the FA RT's to want one so I'll trust in who they sign.

Maxwell is one of those guys that would definitely be an upgrade, if even short term till one of the young guys is better, and I would welcome here, but I don't think we need to go out of our way to sign him at this point.
