'Gas station'.  Lol

Gas super store?

As I'm sure you know, it's hard to describe until you've been in one.  When my friend and I were driving trucks out here we stopped at one in Mobile to fill up.

His only comment after he came out was, "What the hell DON'T they have in that place?"

And they are always clean....always.

Apparently too many of my genes were passed down to my daughter. I told her for no reason “I love you”. She replied with “oh, you’re welcome”. Uh... not sure my feelings on that one.

You’ve just witnessed her first step in female emotional dominance. Do not attempt to understand it, mere man, only submit.

And you know your wife gave her a high five afterwards.

I'm sitting out in the parking lot of Buc-ee's right now.. After driving around the place for 15 minutes looking for a parking spot..

The people here.. OMG.. it's like Disney World for NE Florida.. People fighting over parking spots, people arguing with each other over their turn taking selfies in front of the Buc-ee's mascot, it's totally nuts..

I told my wife that there's no way in hell that I'm going in there and that I'll be out in the car and that I'll pray for her..

If I ever come back, it'll be late night when hopefully the people died down some.. This is insane..

I hope my wife's ok..

Sounds like when Ikea first opened here.  I'll probably stop for a coffee or food the next time I'm passing through the area, but there's no way I'm making a special trip there just to see it.

Hours after coming home from Buc-ee's, and trying some of the ingestables my wife purchased, I've come to realize that it's time to move on in my life.. Don't get me wrong, I've grown appreciative and fortunate to what both my wife and I have assmassed through love, respect and friendship..

But I just can't stand it anymore.. Maybe there's a hotline or something I can call or a website where I can request some literature?

I'm just gonna have to be a man about it all and come clean..

I'm in love with Buc-ee's Beaver Nuggets..

Help?

I tried to warn it you was packed, lol.  But glad you enjoyed it.  I can’t wait to check it out.  But I think my weekends will be spent away from the area for the foreseeable future.  And that seems like way to long of a stop for us to stop while at work.  Eventually, I’ll check it out.

It'll die down in a month or so.  It's the novelty right now.  Kinda like Red Robin at the Town Center.  That place was PACKED for a couple of months when it first opened.

I’ll avoid the “rush of it being new”. I’ll avoid it at work as well due to it slowing us down. I meant on the weekends, I’ll be far away because for the foreseeable future I won’t be in town on the weekends. When the stars align, I definitely want to check it out. Sounds awesome. Gotta get me one of them BBQ Brisket sammiches!!!

That’s how it was when we passed by.  If I wanted to stop, I probably couldn’t have due to parking.  And we had a trailer attached.  Thus eliminating any potential parking spots along with me leaving my livelihood out in a parking lot.  Sure, the area is decen to pretty nice.  But the passerby’s... can’t speak for them.  Not worth the time, aggravation  or risk while working.

I know it’ll “die down” a bit.  But with it being what it is and Daytona, Orlando, Miami and the keys... seems like the spot to stop for travelers along with locals.  There’s a few gas stations there, namely a daily’s and I forgot the other, lol.  I’ll be surprised if they stick around.  The Gate over there was placed in a spot that took all the locals headed to 95 and now Bucees will take some of the Gate customers and the rest.  Those East of 95 will be hurting at best

Ok We’ve been stayin in our Travel trailer on the weekends in a podunk town on my father in law’s property .  He had the “widow maker”,  has land and we can help him out while freeing up money on storage.  It’s been fun so far.  But any stop at a convenience store has me wondering, am I just that good looking or are they just that friendly?  I naturally erred on the side of caution and figured the cashiers were hitting on me.  I mean, I get it, right? Plus, I’m like the only normal dude there that’s not cousin and brother at the same time. But holy cow, on the way up I tried to buy beer and dip.  She seemed shocked I wanted a log.  I got the impression that was “high roller” wants.    Told me it’ll be cheaper if I bought 2.  No [BLEEP], you mean 2 costs less than 5?   Well I’ll be damned. So, when in Rome, I said, “Two shall suit me just fine ma’am.   Thank you for saving me a few dollars.” Not a joke, I’ll fake it til I make it!  Along with a tip of the hat!!! Smile Then a convo ensues  about how I can save x amount and all that if I but 2 and so on.   On the way back after the weekend was over, we stop at a different place.  I get a couple Pepsi max and some slim Jim’s to tie us over on the road.  I ring up and the cashier is asking if I’ve tried the cherry vanilla Pepsi.  Well, when in Rome!!! I’ll play along!  “ no ma’am i have not, are they any good?”   When in fact I can’t stand those.  She tells me how good they are and what not.  So, I just told her that I’d have to try that next time I pass through.  Half of me misses that service, the other half missed normal [BLEEP].  The other half (yes, I’ve got three halves, it adds up trust me. ) played Right said Fred’s I’m too sexy on the way home.

There's a Buccee's at the Holly Hill exit as well.  Not sure if it's open yet but it's gotta be close.

It’s been a while since I’ve headed south. That’s near Daytona, right?  I suppose it doesn’t matter with the new one so close.   I didn’t know they had another  one that close.   But, man, you guys are making me hungry for a damn bbq brisket sandwich! That and I’d like to roam the store and check it out for myself.  Seems like a pretty nice place.

Exit before the 'main' Daytona exit.  I think they started it a little after the one on the WGV exit...but not much after.

I have two within 20 minutes of me now.  They're generally pretty full, but nothing like you're describing.

They also have really good fudge and cookies.  They have these quarter size lemon cookies that I'd fight for.  Plus the brisket and the jerky.

So, I’ve  be got to ask..  how is it set up on the inside?  With the square footage it seems like it’s bigger than a Publix.  I’m hearing about all this prepared food.  I have an image in my head of different “departments” with different foods plus other necessities thrown in between.  I have visions of a food court meets Publix/Walmart.  Is it that awesome?
