Game of Thrones Season 7

I don't know why they were in such a rush to announce when the show was ending to begin with. They could stretch this into 5 more seasons and they'd still he the highest rated show on TV
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Read something that they wanted to tell the story in 70 hours and it will end up being 73 or something.

HBO is historically good at going out near the top of popularity on most of its shows. Athletes could learn from HBO.

I understand that, but just because you went a little over, don't rush the ending..that's the most important part of the show. Should've had 8 full ten episode seasons.

I don't know why they couldn't of had two full 10 episode seasons to end the show. There's only 7 episodes left and the "great war" hasn't even started yet..that's crap. Not having the 6 full episodes that they cut is effecting the writing and storyline, they easily had plenty of content for those 6 episodes and the show would've been better for it imo

I think it has to do with the show catching up with the books.
With so much of seasons 7 & 8 not being written they had to go by bare basic information that Martin had already decided.
And they couldn't (I suppose they could have but didn't want to) make up a lot of the in between stuff which would have possibly interfered with how Martin wanted to finish the writing.

I suppose the HBO show creators were probably wanting to leave Martin with as much room to do what he wanted with the books while still giving the fans the show within a timely manner as well as getting the ending right (which is the most important part)

I too felt the rush of the season every time an episode would start and Jon Snow was in a different part of the map.
Without the books to follow, I think any filler episodes would have been dead material with a lot of walking.
I disliked the 'rushed' feeling... but I'm glad they didn't turn it into a Lord of the Rings movie (a lot of time spent walking)

Yeah pretty much. The show runners signed up to adapt a work, not write it.

And even if they wanted to, they'd be hard pressed to hash out the intricate details of the story within the demands of the filming schedule.

It's too bad because there is a stark difference  Cool
