I agree not picking up the option was the best choice. If he earns an extension that's great, but he hasn't done enough to earn nearly that much money yet.

He's as good as gone. Even if he has a down year statistically it can be blamed on playing time. Some team with a lot of cap is going to give him a massive contact. 24 y.o pass rusher when he hits market with a lot of potential still. Heck some rookies come out at 24. That TE Hurst that many people wanted for some reason was 25 lol. He'll command a rich contract(worthy or not) that the Jags don't be able to match.
