The fact that the Colts have tried to spin it as if he's out there throwing without pain made this little revelation somewhat surprising.

When he's healthy, Luck is absolutely a top 10 QB. Whatever damage has been done to his shoulder pretty much shuts the door on that any time soon, if ever again. As long as he has been out trying to find a resolution to his shoulder issues, it sure seems pretty unlikely that he's going to come back anything close to what he was prior to the injury.

As far as playing through the injury in 2016, my guess is that he was cleared by the medical staff, but that he was pushing to get back on the field. The numbers looked pretty good, but the beating he took then probably put his entire career in jeopardy. Even he's saying he botched his rehab on the shoulder trying to get back too quickly. Now, it sounds like he's basically having to rebuild his mechanics from the ground up. He's sounding optimistic, but I'm skeptical, especially if he comes back and takes another beating. I doubt that shoulder holds up.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Coltswarrior really rode off into the sunset after this season, I feel like he hasn't posted in almost a year. I get it of course, why would he come here when his team seems to enter a perpetual cycle of suckage.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster
