Trading Down

#1

After listing to Caldwell's recent interview, it's clear he'd like to trade down if possible. He was talking about the possibility of a team early in the draft passing on a QB but then looking to trade up into the first presumably if Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph is there. Given their clear interest in extensively looking at every top TE, I suspect he's looking to get one of them in the late 30s or 40s.

One possibility would be the Cards who have several needs. I can see the top QBs all gone with the Cards passing on Jackson and Rudolph at #15 in order to take Ridley, McGlinchey, Vea or Joshua Jackson. Per the charts, the Cards would trade their 2nd round pick at #47 (430 points), their 3rd round pick at #79 (195 points) and their 5th round pick (30.2 points) for the Jaguars #29 pick. The Jaguars would then have #47 and #61 in round 2, #79 and #93 in round 3, and then one pick rounds 4, 5, and 6 plus their 2 picks in round 7.

I'm thinking at #48 we could get Hayden Hurst, and then at #61 a solid starting G like Jamarco Jones who should be able to swing out to RT after Parnell retires.

That could be a good trade for us, depending on howthe draft goes.

I would hate it if I stayed up that late just for us to trade out of the first round.

I would too but it is great to be able to stay up late to wait for our pick for once.

I might actually faint if I saw this draft. Bates at the end of round four? Are you kidding me? This is a SB winning draft.  ...totally unrealistic ...but stilll a SB winning draft.

It would still be just as fun, and it would make you even more excited about the next day.

I've just got a new job and if i stay up it will be til about 5am to be up for work at 7am. I will be missing the first round this year for this very reason.

I was scheduled to work overnight Thursday night, but I took it off as a vacation day.

If we can still get someone like Ragnow or Price AND accumulate picks by trading back, that would be awesome.

That is my ideal scenario.

Lol same for me. I'd be mildly annoyed, but for the right haul I'd be all about it.

Teams are going to value the second and third rounds more than previous years so I don't see it. With that said, I'd love to trade back as there's a ton of value throughout the fourt round.
Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.
