Fun fact, human blood is both red and blue. Blood naturally flows through the veins in a deep purplish-blue color. It's only when exposed to the oxygen-rich atmosphere outside of a human body that blood turns red.

Sure, but it literally refers to bloodline inherited nobility.
Neither Bill Clinton nor Barack Obama came from wealthy or prominent families. Are they elites? Sure. But they aren't nobility.

Not really, in certain instances the term is applied to elite organizations like "these mid major teams may be interesting but usually a 'blue blood' school wins the tournament" using that concept to apply to the liberal establishment isn't outside the mainstream use of the term. Also, the definition clearly includes social prominence in addition to inherited nobility so ur basic premise is a little off.
