After looking at the news this afternoon it certainly smells kind of fishy.  There are a few possibilities right now but what really sticks out to me are the first couple.

1.  A radical far right winger trying to take out a bunch of liberals.  The attack was crude enough that there is a possibility that some nut just "lost it".

2.  Liberals trying a "stunt" right before a mid-term election.  Too many attacks on people that are "not really that important" in the grand scheme of things.  The Clintons?  The Obamas?  Debbie Wasserman Schultz?  Eric Holder?  Something really doesn't sound right here.  Too many names on the list that are obviously left wing and not really "friendly" towards the President.  They also have no place in government right now.  All are from the past.

The timing is very suspicious as is the fact that you have a bunch of migrants invaders supposedly "marching" towards the U.S. at the same time with plenty of media along side them.  It looks too much like a portrayal of "Republicans are mean and Democrats are humanitarians".  Add in the fact that CNN was a victim yet was still reporting on it.

This to me right now reeks of a democrat party ploy to swing the mid term elections much like their failed ploy to reject President Trump's selection of Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Something that is also quite telling.  If there were "attacks" or attempts like this at high profile political targets, military bases would increase security posture.  That has not happend.

Well months ago some very high ups on that side received "ricin" (turned out it was kinda bogus like these bombs)

Speaking of which, saw someone online really tear this stuff apart. From the bogus pipe bombs, to the bogus packaging, to the unreal timing of all packages delivering at or around the same time, to the postage not matching the weight, to the postage not being stamped... etc etc etc...

But I'm so not surprised that many of you believed it. Still believe it. And actually blame Trump for it.
When it was the leftists like Clinton who most recently said "we can not be civil" it was the leftists out here asking people to create mobs, fight back, be violent.

Even Fox is hard to watch with all the opinion shows and very little actual news.

2. The packages were so obviously dangerous looking that even a leftist would avoid setting one off. At least one was found incapable of exploding, and the white powder turned out to be flour. Either the perp was incredibly stupid or the intent was not to harm anyone.

3. The timing, two weeks before the election, benefits the Dems. With several Dem Senate candidates all but written off and the once-sure-thing House race now a toss up, the Dems are desperate for anything to stem the tide.

Of course, this could be from a Right Wing nutjob. Heaven knows there are people on the Right who are stupid enough to not see how lame the attempt would turn out.

Note that the motives are entirely different depending on who did this. If it was a Right Wing nut then the motive is purely hate. If it is Left Winger, then it is a calculated attempt to swing an election. However it turns out the perpetrator should face life without parole.
