TheO-LineMatters first mock draft of the year

#1
(This post was last modified: 01-17-2019, 01:26 PM by TheO-LineMatters.)

Now that all the underclassmen have formally announced their intentions, I am releasing a mock draft. Keep in mind this is not what I want to happen, but what I believe will happen at this point. My mocks will change over time, but you have to start somewhere and this is where I'm starting. Keep in mind, that if you don't see a player in this draft, they could easily show up in one of the mocks after compensatory picks are awarded. I hope the order is right. I copied it off the internet along with all the picks that have been formally traded.

Holy [BLEEP]! You’ve got time on your hands to mock the whole draft.
With taking Lock in rd2, what do you suppose they do in FA to address QB aside from McGough?

One glaring omission I see in first run through is no Demarkus Lodge - WR - Ole Miss.

Dont see him falling past the 3rd round yet not in your mock...he was the deep threat of Ole Miss triple headed monster at WR. At 6'2" he will run in the 4.4s or faster.

Jonah Williams. Yuck. He's from Alabama so he didn't have to work hard because playing with all those 5 star recruits made him look good. He's a Luke jockel 2.0.

I've been working on this for a couple of months, but didn't want to roll it out until after all the underclassmen had announced their intentions.

As far as the QB position, I don't know. I'm leaning towards thinking we might go after Joe Flacco, depending on what the trade would cost us. If we did, he would likely be the starter for the entire season and maybe into 2020. I don't think we have the money to go after Foles and once you get passed Haskins, I didn't see another QB worthy of a top 10 pick.

Actually, Lodge is on my list of players, but I didn't find a place to put him in this draft. He is kind of the forgotten receiver on that Ole Miss team. He'll get drafted, but he'll probably have to wait until one of my future mocks where compensatory picks are awarded. Like I said, my future mocks will look much different as we get past the all-star games, the Combine and pro days. The more information I get, the more things will change.

Interesting. If we can get Lock/Grier rd 2 I’m fine with it. Even Daniel Jones in the 2nd I could talk myself into

Thanks. Yes I agree. I currently have him going #106 overall to Buffalo. I like how he has experience at OG and Center.

Seconded on the compliments.  Speaking of Buffalo, 148 is blank. @I'll withhold my evaluation until I see who you have in that spot@

great Mock. You took some time on this one obviously.

Grier to NE? do you think they groom him to be next in line or next JimmyG trade?

I don't think they have time to make him the next Jimmy G trade. I'm giving Brady 3 more years max. Probably 2. I believe they will groom him to be the heir apparent to Brady.
