I want to buy a jersey but I'm afraid of possibly jinxing said player.

Perhaps I will do another custom jersey like I did years ago.

As good as Lambo was, is it really wise for one of the two teams that is over the salary cap already and has a few giant contract extensions on the near horizon to be paying a kicker top 5 money at the position?

Yes.

With all of the question marks on offense, he gives you the the only sure thing at putting some points on the board.

Also -- it's a very reasonable contract with only 6.5 mil guaranteed.

That's top 5 kicker money too. The almost 4 mil a season is not cheap in our current situation. Not saying I'm mad at the deal or anything, but we could probably have used that money toward something harder to replace.

Actually his guaranteed money makes him #7 on the list for 2019.

By September 2020 he'll probably be closer to #12 on that list and earning every penny. The Jags did a smart thing here.

I bet the Steelers thought so too after Boswell started his career as the best K in Steelers history. Then he turned into a disaster and they still owe him a significant amount of money. Kickers are wild man.

No matter who becomes QB, the Jags will be played low-scoring defensive games. That makes having a reliable kicker a must. Yes, its expensive, but it will could easily buy 2 wins next year.
