Trump has already expressed his problems with the Otto situation to Kim personally. Even though Kim probably knew about it, you can't prove it. How would openly insulting Kim, on something you can't prove, be beneficial to anyone.

The Americans took several measures over the course of Otto's lengthy imprisonment to get him out.  Of course, Kim was fully aware.

Trump just stated he is in a bad position because he has to negotiate.  TRUMP IS WEAK !!  PRESIDENT REAGAN TOOK ON THE SOVIETS DIRECTLY AND DID THE SAME TO OTHER COMMUNIST AND DICTATORSHIP LEAD COUNTRIES.

Kim was fully aware of who Otto was but that doesn't prove he knew he was being tortured.

There were no physical signs of torture to Otto's body. Does that mean he wasn't tortured? No. Does that mean I don't believe he was tortured? No.

Otto's condition could've, hypothetically, been caused by cardiac arrest. Considering he was probably malnourished, and had potassium (and who knows what else) deficiencies, it may not have been torture. I'm sure he was tortured. I'm not sure, however, there's enough evidence for Trump to call Kim out on his lies in a face-to-face meeting when Kim may have actually been lied to by his subordinates.

You're overreacting because you want something to be upset about. By the way, the media (and many democrats) didn't agree with how Reagan handled the soviets, either.

Come on.  You know good and well that if Obama had said the same thing Trump said, you would be going ape about it.

Yep, I sure would have. Trump’s motivation to soft pedal the issue is understandable, but he virtually exonerated Kim of the Warmbier murder with that statement. He should have stated that the matter was open for further discussion or investigation. This is Trump’s faux pas.

You have no clue what I would or wouldn’t do.

There’s no physical evidence to suggest torture. You guys act like Trump didn’t talk to him about it. He did. Trump has no proof to stand on because, while unlikely, what North Korea said could have technically happen.

A person who knows that he harbors or harbored an irrational hatred of Obama would say "you don't know me."
A person who is committed to an idea of fairness that is bigger than party loyalty would say, "no, if Obama had said this, I'd let it pass just like I'm doing with Trump."

Wow. You know you've reached the depths of political hypocrisy when you not only make excuses for a lying condo salesman but now start making excuses for a ruthless Communist dictator.

Yeah, I'm sure he barely knew he had an American citizen in one of his many prisons. He was too busy writing love letters to Donald to check up on Otto's care.

Gullible or an appeaser - it's hard to tell.

I specifically said Kim knew about Otto, but I don’t actually expect you to read the posts before jumping to conclusions. If you want to point to something I said that was incorrect then please do.

Rocket Man is lying, and I have no idea why President Trump feels the need to cover for him. Nothing is gained. Oh, and MBS was the one that ordered the death of Khashoggi.

Do you think he was so ignorant of what happened, even if after it happened, that he could look Trump in the eye and say so?

I say, along with others in this thread, that you would have complained if President Obama had let Kim off the hook this way. You've made two replies to this accusation and neither are denials. We can try one more time.
If Obama was still president, and if he said that he took Kim Jong Un's word for it regarding how Otto died, would you complain about that or not?

Donald's a weird guy. Socialism: bad, bad, bad. Communism: good, good, good. Xi - great guy. Putin - good strong leader. Kim - my buddy and I believe whatever he tells me.

And he can't understand why Kim doesn't want to buy a condo from him. Oh - also, Vietnam, another one-party Communist state - doing great!

And how is Otto's death unacceptable? Like the killing of the journalist by the Saudis was unacceptable? Hahahaha!

If Obama or Clinton had said anything like this Jim Jordan would be elbowing Trey Gowdy to be first in line to hold two weeks of hearings.

You just can't make this stuff up. What a loser.

You fit the profile of someone who would overuse the phrase hehehe.

True, I'd probably make fun of Obama for saying that. Of course, in eight years Obama didn't have a single good policy action to offset a stupid remark.
