Looking back on a few things

#1

We should have never extended Bortles that extra 2 years.
Jack’s knee is still holding up, still can’t believe we got him in round 2.
Ramsey turned out to be the best pick for us a few years back.
Should have never gave away a 5th for Hyde. Everyone knew it was a waste.
The guard from Carolina needs to give us back our money. Can’t think of his name at the moment.
Should have kept Allen Robinson somehow
I still think Fournette was the best pick at the time, looking back I’d rather have Watson.
Coughlin should have became the Head Coach
Should have drafted Lamp (a legend around here).
I would say Jackson was worth it the first 2 years but then something happened.
Campbell ended up being one of the best FA signings next to McCardell, Smith, and Nickerson.

I hope Foles turns up like he did in Philly.

Edit - Looking back on a few things within the last few years.

Jack's knee was a question, but at that stage of the draft, he was well worth the risk.  Had there not been any question regarding his knee, he could have been a top 5-10 pick easily.

I had my questions about Hyde, but I think at that point, the team was still trying to salvage the season.  I see why the trade was made.

Norwell (the G from carolina) had a shaky start but started playing better until he got hurt.  I think he'll be fine.

We definitely should NOT have drafted Forrest Lamp.  As disappointed as some are with Cam Robinson (I am not), he is infinitely better than Lamp, who has yet to register a single start.

I would not add Nickerson to the list of best ever Jags FA signings.  In terms of LBs, I would put Poz and Peterson ahead of him, and if we are talking about overall, I would definitely put Leon Searcy, Chris Naoele, A.J. Bouye, Malik Jackson, Kyle Brady, and arguably even Carnell Lake ahead of Nickerson.

I still think Jack is overrated, he is good but not great. 2nd round was good but had we taken him in the top 5 I wouldn't be happy.
Mahomes>>>>>>>Watson
Lamp? the OL? hasn't he been injured?

Agree with everything else, especially A Rob. He'd be great with Foles.

Jack's knee currently isn't an issue and it wasn't expected to be either. It's the long term prospect that's the problem, bad cartilage is only going to get worse and there is no recovery like there is for a broken bone or a ligament tear.

Well in fairness to me, he DID list Campbell as ahead of Nickerson.  I didn't argue a point he already ceded.

So, who was the better pick than 4net? Davis? No. Adams? Probably yes (Imagine Jags D with that guy back there!) I'm gonna say McCaffrey is a better player...different - but better. I'd take WR Williams over 4net. Ross stinks. MaHomes, obviously, but Jax had already put their eggs in the Bortles basket. A lot of other guys, in hindsight.

Yes, there was a link and I posted it.  I'm not going to look for it because it was several weeks ago and I'm paraphrasing, but he said something along the lines 'that it was time to move on'.

It's interesting, I never thought of Poz as one of our best free agent signings ever, but looking back on it, he definitely was.

I agree Poz was one of the best FA signings.

Poz
Campbell
Smith
McCardell
Nickerson
Lake
Deon Figures
Ty Hallock
Kyle Brady
Mike Pete
Gary Walker
Leon Searcy
Josh Lambo
Sammy Knight
Gipson

I probably missed a few but these are some of the best.

Joey Porter
Torrey Holt
Hugh Douglas
Prince Amukamora
Toby Gerheart
Bryce Paup
Andre Rison

Some of the worst

Wow @ your comment on Coughlin. Why do you feel that way? Recent draft? The handling of Bortles?

Just a gut feeling based on what I've seen since he arrived.
I wanted to think he was going to bring discipline.
He didn't.
I wanted to think he was going to be what Caldwell needed to get over the top.
Nope.
The first signing that happened after TC got here was Brandon Albert. TC was pretty vocal about it and it was a total bust signing that luckily didn't cost the team too much in the end.
That was followed shortly by the Fournette pick.
Dumb.
Now we may have our backs against the cap for the foreseeable future after going big on a FA QB and impending 2nd contracts looming for the young defensive studs that Caldwell picked.
I'm not filled with confidence by the things that have happened since the new football czar arrived.
They made that playoff run on the backs of a defense that was basically built before TC arrived.
Then they rolled the dice and lost on Bortles - and the following season featured some of the most undisciplined play and behavior I've ever seen - all around the roster.
I'm just unimpressed with the Coughlin effect thus far.

To be fair, TC's in a new role for him. I think in terms of the team discipline issues, he may have been deliberately stepping back to let Marrone coach the team. I want to see if he'll take a more active role in that area this year. There have been some bad decisions made too and the Bortles signing was one but Bortles fooled a lot of people into thinking he'd turned the corner in 2017. Let's see what happens this year. Maybe TC will be a bust in the front office but I think the decision is still out on that one.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.
